Yea, I know. The roots are still healthy from what I can tell. I can't really lift them up right now because of the chicken wire (another mistake I won't make again). I can look up the tubes and they look fine though.

I wish I had the room in my freezer to regularly freeze bottles to do that but the wifey has killed that idea.
that sucks
My plasma was only $700. It's a custom build from luxim. It's a 300w lamp. I got the 02 bulb which has an enhanced red spectrum. I'll probably grab another one when I have the money. On the next one I'm going to grab a horizontal ballast so I have more vertical room.

The plants under it look fucking awesome. A link to my journal is in my sig. I usually only post the led part of my grow in this thread but I can add a few since plasma has been mentioned.
thats not a bad price, i was told by a few to hold off on plasma right now.
looks good

A few months ago I spoke with Grow Perfect, makers of Magnum and ISIS. They told me they were testing an LED vert light. We should tell Mike to get to work on one. Imagine how bright that thing would be. Sunglasses - mandatory...

i have some cool pics for you. got my 180's in and took pics side x side with my (2011) 500w, (2010) 300w all next to my new (2011) 180w. all the pics but one are adjusted by the camera to make them not look as bright so you guys can see the details. the new 180's to my eyes back more of a punch but just on a smaller scale because of the size of the unit being smaller then the others. i took a few pics of the 3x180's right next to the 500w panel i am using and going to replace, just to get an idea of what might be best for you. i like the 180's because i can cover more area for around the same wattage. i haven't put them over the plants yet, i will take those pics latter

I took a comparative picture of my Spectra 290 (2011) to add to the collection. It has 160 3w chips and draws 305w of power, 11"X17"X3".

Dimming filter on the left, no filter on the right. I was about 3'-4' away.

their doing allot better and flowering now, ill post pics.

to be honest i like the 180's better allot more coverage for less watts. i am very happy with the 3x180's.

the 500w still has its place but if ur going to do a large area for cheaper the 180's seem nice. very happy with my trading. but i havent seen the new new 500w so who knows?

i am pretty upset once i hung my 180's up..................................... I wish i would have gotten these long ago, their so perfect for my 4x4 tray not shading at all and just perfect mix of light. these three are just fine for my tray. 4 will be really cool and all 6 is going to be insane, might even be too much? 3 is perfect and they run pretty cool, little cooler then my 1x500w. i really dig these so far. 6 is going to be so bad ass.

oh and its so much better taking pics with these ones, i dont have to turn off the light anymore.lol.. also theirs not no pink glowing light coming out of the room just looks like a house light, and i can see issues allot easier.

pics look a little funky because the lights are on. i took some close ups so you can see the flowers kicking in.

not sure bro i have not seen the 290's? the reason i like the 180's because its a gental blend of colors and its not just intense light in one area, it spreads the light out more with using less watts. but then again those 290's look bad ass in the pics.lol.. i have not used these 180's yet so its hard to even say how their going to do? ive seen others rock them out nice so its high hopes for me.

if it were me i would go with the 180's since ur 5' area is pretty long, but thats just me like i said i havent seen the 290's yet.

so you expect the 180s to put out the big buds ,man i wanna duplicate your 600 watt led grow on 420 where you get 19 ounces out of 4 plants ,i bought a 290 but its gettin moisture in it so mike said hed send me a 2nd generation 2011 to replace it,but i see hes got some more 1st generation 2011s on sale so i gotta make my move now ,logically the 3 180s is spread out more betta ,guess ill get mikes opinion too ,whats your usual dry weight off 4 plants or your average off 1,i know that 190z is extraordinary lol

i expect big buds off of all my grows/lights. i wouldn't want a light that dosent do that. i expect great yields once i run all 6x180's

i get avarge about 3+oz per plant, pulled 3oz per plant or a little more? with 100% organics so that was good but on the lower side of my yield but it was organics.

heres a grow with 2x180s all organic, no PHing or anything, just adding water to a organic medium pretty much
