Look, I haven't smoked that much good stuff. Mainly just swag. Its cheap, and its easy to find. I can't afford that 100 1/4 shit. Nor can I find it that easy. I grew LR#2 and I thought that shit was dank. Ruderilis genetics and all. Hell, even this immature bud i'm smoking on is better than good swag. Ya'll people need to keep in mind when commenting on other peoples threads that maybe they can't get shit like you can?ThinK

Yes, WE do tend to get familiar with the good herb.....I haven't smoked anything other than my home grown (and friends HG) in years and intend to keep it that way. We love to get together and vape a few of the frosty nugs that we each have nurtured along......

hey man....i smoke kind of a lot, i had some lowryder #2 that was grown outdoors last fall and it was awesome, people talk mad smack on it but i really dgaf as they don't have to touch it then if they feel so hostile towards it....i dug it so much, as well as think it's autoflower trait is ideal for outdoor guerilla growing, that i recently did some seed runs with a lowryder #2 male, i made f2 of lowryder #2 from a male and female, i have f1s of the following now:
petrolia headstash x lowryder #2
bagseed acapulco gold x lowryder #2
w.o.s. columbian gold x lowryder #2

i have dusted the thai i run twice now, and have gotten zero seeds...that would be the ultimate to me, i want to take that 14 week thai and bounce it off the lowryder #2

anyways, so there's this random bagseed plant in the backyard outside, seriously it smells so yummy kushy with a slight skunk funk, man it smells as good as any of the paid for strains, like the petrolia or the blue dream as far as yummy smell goes, just some random bagseed, i was tossing random seeds into this planter that was on the balcony, this is one that came up, we moved and it moved with me and now gets to kick it in the dirt outside, didn't really cost anything as i was going to toss the unviable looking seeds anyways but man i know that this little girl is going to be such dank smoke

i am in southern california, have had a medical recommendation for over 5 years, have tried many different things in all price categories, just started seriously doing a grow in december 2009, we are very very spoiled here. it is easy for us to forget that it isn't like this everywhere. the amazing blue dream i keep running over and over again was purchased down the street for $15, it is so easy for me to take this sort of thing for granted, i'm sure it is easy for others to do the same

the rest of my 'name' acually is this: Hada turn 2 growin' 'cause I got sick and tired of paying GOOD money for BAD herb... really. I got tired of paying $70- 1/4 and $100- 1/2 for shitty smoke. Instead of bitchin', I got to growing. Now I am the only one to blame when my 'shit' is shit, and I can be the guy who can charge whatever I feel my labour of love is worth, IF I feel like getting rid of any. Another bonus is getting to make all sorts of other things like cannabis tincture or the many many butter reciepe's.
To answer your question, 'yes', sometimes I am spoiled with delightfully delicious nugs, sometimes I learn an important lesson (and only smoke 'delicious' nugs.)
Get at 'er tharoomman.... a simple, single plant, cfl set up is only a small space away.... and u too can quit spending GOOD money on BAD smoke.

I guess I don't see the point...are we spoiled or do you not value weed the same way as us? because I say 100 a quarter is low...I sell my bud for a 20 a g because that is what its worth...a great deal of money, time, and effort go into process...even when I wasn't growing and I was working a sad minimum wage job I placed value on weed and quality weed...you spend more on dank weed but it last much longer than schwag...you get a high instead of a headach...you toss it in the grinder instead of picking out tons of seeds...you taste potency and flavor as opposed to whatever the hell schwag is (flavorless and usually smells like hay)...

maybe you are not as motivated to purchase quality marijuana, but if good bud is not available then I would say you need to befriend the right people, because growing is more common than one from the "outside" would think...

I completely cosign most everything except for the highlighted...when I did that I got about a quarter off a plant...2-3 months for a quarter....the math doesn't add up! if you want to smoke more than .1 a day per harvest then you may want to invest more money....I wish someone would have told me this before I wasted large amounts of money on shitty equipment...

just sayin ya gotta start somewhere... I started with a 10x10 sealed room with 2x 1000w and 2 x400w, 2x 8"vortex fans, temp and humid control as well as co2. But thats just me. If I started with a simple set up (cfl, fluoro, or a single 400), I may have saved a lotta money on shitty smoke, and thus been able to start my first grow in a warehouse!!! LOL!!

I haven't bought any weed in at least 8 months. Started growing about a year ago and have not run out since about my second harvest, hard to say, I rotate them. So, I've been smoking some fine WW mostly, and friends have nothing but dank too. Haven't smoked cheap stuff in months, except the occasional situation out and about and someone lights one. Getting tired of my WW though, actually. Got a couple new strains in the pipeline now, can't wait.

Well, I see it as.. RIU is a growing website.. if people are gonna grow, they're gonna grow awesome weed. so it would make sense that the majority of people on RIU would be spoiled on good herb

Why smoke swag when you can grow Top Shelf? A buddy turned me onto Top notch local Hydro a few years back, and a few Amsterdam trips later... and I can not smoke ditch weed now- maybe cook with it, but a savory top shelf smoke is the best. At $500 a zip around here, my ionvestment is paid back pretty quickly inwhat I save.

I just don't understand how hard working intelligent people become categorized as "spoiled"....Maybe I speak another language but I thought that term was more used for little whiny bitches who are born into a rich family...never do shit except for party and fail...and yet they have nicer clothes, cars, and homes than the majority of the population

I understand this ive taken macro-economics 101 haha, but a. going big or going home is a grade a way to get yourself canned in non-legal states and b. I just wish that I had a mentor who could have told me that quantum's ballast are the best, and that growlab horticulture tents are the best way to control light leaks etc. etc. but I am happy with the end result...a year later, I gained a great deal of experience and I now what I am doing (to a degree based on the concept that there is always going to be more to learn)
