yeah that looks a little bit mouldy man. it's a shame. the buds looks really nice. i would take everything out of the jars and try and dry it a bit more and i would probably try and trim any bits of mould out of the weed i could find. you need to do this now before it gets any worse!!!

Yes they are a tad wet. And it seems to be kinda everywhere. Trimming it is going to be difficult. Thanks for the kind words on the nice job I did. Wish I could try it. Never tried this strain. Should have dried longer before jarring it. Didn’t think it would have been an issue. Not gonna bother extracting. May just make cream or toss it

Make butter for edibles at the least. Yeah bud should be pretty dry when jarring. I started the first stage of curing in 5 gallon buckets. Keep them half full or less so they have plenty of air, open them every day and toss the buds up a bit.

you never want to put wet buds in a jar... that's asking for mould. you want the buds to be dry before you put them in jars and then burp the jars every 12 hours for the first few weeks then every 24 hours after that... take them out of the jars right now and try and dry it out ASAP. if you think some is covered in a lot of mould just try and remove it the best you can. i would hate for you to have to throw away a whole plant or whatever you got going on buddy

There are a few reasons why smoking moldy weed can cause negative health effects for just about anyone. Mold spores can survive in surprisingly harsh environmental conditions, including being burned, only to take up residence inside the warm and damp environment inside the human body.

If your immune system isn’t up for the match, this can cause lung infection.

Moldy weed can also make you sick thanks to compounds called mycotoxins and endotoxins. Mycotoxins are compounds that sit on the outside of mold spores and in small fragments of mold.

They’re referred to as toxins because they are harmful to the human body, and can trigger irritation and illness. This is especially true if you’re exposed to them consistently and in large amounts.

Coupled with these mycotoxins are compounds known as endotoxins. Endotoxins are molecules released by bacteria as they die. Typically, molds and endotoxins go hand-in-hand, making exposure especially agitating.

Endotoxins by themselves are known to worsen symptoms of asthma and contribute to lung irritation.

Inhaling a batch of mycotoxins and endotoxins together can cause inflammation. Chronic exposure to pro-inflammatory molds and mildews can aggravate autoimmune conditions and increase your chances of developing an infection.

In the worst case scenario, this infection can contribute to pneumonia and possibly spread to other parts of the body.

i once got a gram of weed and it was totally mouldy. it made me physically sick for about 2 days straight so i totally agree with what you are saying there. i would toss it thinking about it now.

Aspergillus is primarily a composting mold living off dead plant material, while Botrytis and Powdery Mildew target living material.

As previously noted, it has spores everywhere, but poorly cured material is the primary reason for an infestation. It likes to grow in dark damp places.

Aspergillus is the more serious actor when it comes to serious health effects, both from allergic reactions to its spores, invasive colonization, and from its aflatoxins, but Penicillium sp. is known to cause keratitis, external ear, respiratory and urinary tract infections, so it isn't soft and cuddly.

The allergenic effects seen by Aspergillus spores include: Type I allergies; Type III hypersensitivity pneumonitis and others.

Some Aspergillus species are known to produce aflatoxins. A. fumigatus causes allergic bronchopulmonary aspergillosis and allergic fungal sinusitis.

Members of this genus cause a disease called Aspergillosis, which is an invasive infection, colonization, toxicoses or allergy.

Many species grow at body temperature and they are opportunistic pathogens, causing infection in individuals with compromised immune systems.

I’m tossing it. Not going to bother smoking it. May make topical cream with it. It was about 2-3Oz I won’t risk the issues smoking it. I have lung issues already. I know I should have waited longer to jar them. But I didn’t want them to be bone dry that they turned to dust. I wanted some nice dense fluffy nugs. Last batch I did was over dried and didn’t do well as in it just turned to dust really fine. My first ever harvest I dried in my grow tent and went to Boston for 8 days. Came home. Trimmed it. And that harvest is still doing well in my jars and is amazing.

How do I avoid this next time? But I don’t want bone dry weed. Do I wait till the stems snap but not break to jar em?

paper bagging it helps it dry slowly and more evenly. Dry for a few days and then throw it into the bags until ready for the jar. I like to keep the humidity around 60 and the temp below 70 which makes it hard to over dry.

That was also stupid advice just like yours
telling him he never wants to put wet buds in a jar is bad advice isit buddy?? the only reason i said don't throw the buds away is because i didn't know how much he had. he could of had 100 ounces of weed and some of it could of been good quality with no mould... 0422c429ba9c93c63b67ffabe8b36d4b.png
