Is this good for a starter kit for my closet?

i dont think i would jump at that. if your gonna use shop lights you can buy 4 shop lights w/ 10 6500 k bulbs for $60 at home depot. get a new ph meter online shipped for abut $60 - $ 80 and all that other crap you either dont need or could get it cheaper. stay away from miracle - gro.

Well my buddy sell a hell a lot in where im from and he wanted to set me up 4 light in a huge tent, but it seems that he's to busy so im going to start something myself. IM REALLY A NOOB IN THIS GROWING. If someone can guide me to what ineed to shop for to be able to get the max out of my plant. Which i will be growing about 4-8 in my closet so id like to atlese get a pound or 2. Im from canada there is a few store that sell stuff for growing. Can you tell me how much would cost me around a good setup to get good weed and what exactly i need to buy. Im planning to spend my day tomorow shopping for a complete kit. I HAVE HOME DEPOTwhere i live and many more stores.

i just started setting up my closet too because the first "grow box" i built i didnt consider the ending height of the plant so im now having to convert my closet. its my first grow too but i could help out a little.

how big is your space?? Lenght, width, height?

basically your guna want a fan to keep air circulation, some sort of ventialation if possible, the lights.. you have quiet a few choices on these ( i personally use CFL's. i have quiet a few friends who use the flourescent tubes tho) another great thing is going to be a timer, and a temp and humidity guage

i started using new soil with my newest round of seeds its called fox farm (they also have great nutrients) i got all of their products at a local nusery. but you can check availability around your area by checking their website. but fox farms is where its at!

ik i have to be frogeting something but like i said its still my first time growing on my own. im just using techinques i got from my buddys who have been growing awhile. but im more then willing to try and help out.

T8 Shop lights are $20 bucks at walmart and are the WORST type of light to use for growing. Also the nutes they have in their kit are horrible. Honestly the best thing they offer is a clone dome and I hate them things.

For a small low power good size harvest grow Get a 400w hps light and build a drip or dwc Hydro system. Get any A/B nutes and get a ph and ppm meter.

For a small very low power, medium to small harvest on the cheap. Get 2, 100w equivalent CFL's per pot and use some foxfarm soil and use foxfarm nutes.

I would pass on that set-up. I grow in my closet also. Check out my signature. I do six plants in Hyrdo.

K my closet is 5 feet of lenght 4 feet wide and about 7 feet high should be decent! Even if its your 1st grow we can learn together and save each other ass. Ill learn from your mistakes haha :p I really do appreciate your help.

in that size closet, 2-400watt or 1- 600watt hps w/aircooled hood(s) would be the way to go. you can get a mh interchangable bulb for the hps ballast and just use the one ballast. you could probably get 10 - 12 5 gallon pots in there and really get a good harvest if you train your plants properly. you have plenty of height and all you would have to do is hang your lights on chains from ceiling hooks and just adjust height as needed. get a good organic soil or soilless mix and some good nutes with a ph pen and a ppm meter if you can but you dont have to have the ppm meter. you can also use mylar or just paint the walls white. i like visqueen.

K thank you ! the weed in your pic is it your growing? I was asking myself is it going to smell my whole appartment if i grow in my closet?

I am growing in that same size closet. My first time too. I doubt you can fit 10-12 plants unless you keep them SMALL.
Here I have 6 going. Two are HUGE. If your in Canada I would go with hps. I use a 1000 watt hps. I need the heat because its so cold here. Good Luck!!!
