Is this Normal?

I'm in my first grow, so I'm not sure if I have an issue or if this in normal. They're about 6 weeks into veg.

Hmmm, they look a bit stressed... The tops seem a little stunted... The lower leaves either seem devoid ov Nitrogen or not receiving enough light... Have they been indoors all the time or just inside recently?

Have you fed them yet?
What with?
Is or has the compost got very wet/ dry?
What type of lights are you running and are they Hot?
Is the grow space Hot?

I haven't fed them yet, but I did order the nutes a couple days ago.
They are in Scott's Moisture Control soil. It's supposed to continuously feed for up to 4 months. I have read where you don't want the plants wet, so I make sure the soil is a bit dry before I water.
I am using a T5 with 8 4' bulbs. They don't get very hot.
The grow space can get up to 90 degrees, but the humidity is about 35.

This is what i mean, looks like nutes when it seems to be more overwatering. Of course it looks nute deficient, so would any plant if its roots were overwatered and constantly wet. Those crispy brown bottom leaves aint nitrogen deficiency it overwatering, well in my opinion. You cant feed nutes till the overwatering is solved, heal the roots then feed, should only have to let the soil dry good once or twice. Leaves should be standing up straight not drooping like that, 6 weeks veg is long time for a smallish plant like that but hey it dont look too bad really. They certainly are in decent sized pots.

Of course mate, my attempt at nutrient related humour was but my second line.
Even though he shouldn't feed nutrients until the watering problem is solved, the plant is still nutrient deficient :joint:

Nutrient deficiency always seem to go hand in hand with underwatering or overwatering.
 
Yep certainly do, but thats just my best guess, dont rule other things out, if it was overwatering perlite and cultivating the top layer of soil will help in the next grow. Lets see what happens, Peace
 
Okay, now I'm confused. How can I be overwatering when I have let the soil go dry, and my moisture meter says "DRY"?

Again, I am using Scott's Moisture Control soil, which also is supposed to feed for up to 4 months. It has Perlite in it. It's only been about 2 months. Plus the upper leaves are growing and the top keeps sprouting new leaves.

So - water meter says "Dry", PH is solid at 6.7, and I haven't fed them anything yet. I believe the plant gets fed when the soil gets wet. Isn't tthat how all the "enriched" soils work?

Anybody thinking maybe not enough watering/feeding?

Mr. BUDS - I appreciate your take, can you go into a bit more detail why you think Leave Well Enough Alone?
 
Fuck that just feed it some veg food and it'll be fine, you get that yellowing from lack of light and not enough Nitrogen but overall they look pretty healthy
 
and that plant DOES NOT look over watered to me.... but hey i'm a stoner and society would say i'm stupid lol

Then he should supplement with 50-100ppm of calmag if using ro water but they look to me just need a good feeding.
 
I am using tap water that I leave out for 24 hours before using. Nutes are on the way.

What is "RO" water?

Should I get a PPM meter? If so, what would be a good and inexpensive one?
