The Native Americans most certainly ran guerilla style attacks against settlers, just as palestine is attacking israel. Native Americans just used bows and arrows because that is all they had. Best to believe, if they had bombs and missiles they would have wipe our white asses off the map!
Israel was only made a real country in 1947 or 49 after WWII. The christians(US and UK) did the dirty work of removing the locals(something we're real good at) and gave the Israelites land, that was in someone else's control.
And that tired story of the land once belong to the hebrews long ago, god and his chosen people, yeah well ain't that the story of the world. America used to be the home land of Native Americans. I don't see anyone fighting a war to give them back their home land.
What do rational humans expect would be the outcome? That the locals would just welcome someone they consider to be an enemy to take control of the land they've been on for centuries, probably not. The powers in control knew exactly what would happen. They knew with the money and military power of israel, it would be the same as when Europeans set up shop in early america. The natives would resist but unable to ever really fight back.
I do not think ill of any race or religion, because we all have our good and bad. But as far as the violence between Palestine and Israel, it is not a mystery.

No, it's serious. The problem is we see it as a religion and they do not. We see the book as scripture, they do not.
This is a unified non-secular governance manual. It has everything spelled out, for hour to hour governance, down to praying and the direction and how many times a day and at what times. It is not a war cult that depends on snitching to the local Priest in "confession." No, they are the govt, too.
