Ok so these are my seedlins 3 days old in rockwool and will stay there until roots start showing

I have my iws setup for 4 feeds a day already setup but the pots fill just over 3/4 full, the rockwool cubes will only get water to about 3/4 will this be ok? Am guessing the rockwool and pellet will absord water when iws feeds am i right in thinking that?

your system seems to be off to me .......the rockwool is only a part step..........u need to use a tray for the roots to grow in or a bucket or something

once those roots poke out of the rockwool they will need a place to go to feed.....if u leave them exposed to light they get a hard shell on them and food intake about stops at those points

Thanks for the input... you must of miss understood me, the pots are under the tray i am only using the tray at the moment until roots show.... then they will be going to there new home in the iws pots

But the pots only fill 3/4 of the way is this ok?

Hi there I know this is irrelevant but I've got a 15 pot IWS system and all my girls are doing great but in the bottom of the pots there is a slight bit of water sitting there and I'm scared the roots are going to start chasing it into the pipes. I have got stands and I have got copper disks in the bottom of the pots but there is still water sitting there. Do I slope the pots even more or have you got any other suggestions?

Hi jaja, i have also noticed that however not done anything to change it... there is a addon thats been made tho that plugs into the hole inside the pot... i belive it was something called iws root stopper or something along those lines

If you do decide to tilt your pot a bit please let me know how that goes

Ahhh right I might look into the root stopper but the thought of it makes me think it will restrict water flow? I've read elsewhere that someone just cut a bit of the IWS pipe up and placed it under the outer pot on top of the stand so it slopes more. It definitly drains it off but I've yet to see if it will still flood adequately

I look at mine most days and either lift or turn the pot every now and again, roots look good... am just leaving everything how it is this run but may change a bit next time around
