"Jesus Certainly Existed" Three Reasons To Be Skeptical

The Bible isn't the only Holy book to mention Jesus. He's the only prophet in the Quran to be referred to as "messiah". He's the only one who was able to create life.

They knew who Jesus was, and they knew he could be killed like any other "human". Satan was probably an advisor and instigator.
Put the later Gospel narratives to the side for a moment. Now would it make more sense that "killed for being human", and "would not kill if God's plan was made known" when applied to the vision in Zechariah? Here a Joshua/Jesus (Savior) is in dirty clothes (seen as a metaphor for mortal flesh in antiquity) and confronted by Satan who does not know that Savior is a "brand plucked from the fire". Then God has clean clothes (metaphor for immortal flesh) put on him, and given the "Branch" a symbol of Perpetuaty. Then charged with right of acces to God's Temple.

Zechariah 3:1-9

"1 Then he showed me the high priest Joshua (Savior) standing before the angel of the LORD, and Satan (Adversary) standing at his right hand to accuse him. 2 And the LORD said to Satan, "The LORD rebuke you, O Satan! The LORD who has chosen Jerusalem rebuke you! Is not this man a brand plucked from the fire?" 3 Now Joshua was dressed with filthy clothes as he stood before the angel. 4 The angel said to those who were standing before him, "Take off his filthy clothes." And to him he said, "See, I have taken your guilt away from you, and I will clothe you with festal apparel." 5 And I said, "Let them put a clean turban on his head." So they put a clean turban on his head and clothed him with the apparel; and the angel of the LORD was standing by.

6 Then the angel of the LORD assured Joshua, saying 7 "Thus says the LORD of hosts: If you will walk in my ways and keep my requirements, then you shall rule my house and have charge of my courts, and I will give you the right of access among those who are standing here. 8 Now listen, Joshua, high priest, you and your colleagues who sit before you! For they are an omen of things to come: I am going to bring my servant the Branch. 9 For on the stone that I have set before Joshua, on a single stone with seven facets, I will engrave its inscription, says the LORD of hosts, and I will remove the guilt of this land in a single day."

Zechariah 6:11-13

11 Take the silver and gold and make a crown, and set it on the head of the high priest Joshua son of Jehozadak (Savior Son of the Righteous God); 12 say to him: Thus says the LORD of hosts: Here is a man whose name is Branch: for he shall branch out in his place, and he shall build the temple of the LORD. 13 It is he that shall build the temple of the LORD; he shall bear royal honor, and shall sit upon his throne and rule. There shall be a priest by his throne, with peaceful understanding between the two of them."

Only One who didn’t have children, never had a wife, the “Son” of G*d.

He could have kept some aspects of his life beyond the view of others though. I mean historians always say there's alot we don't about him right? Maybe he partied hard in his twenties and was a real pussy hound?

"Hey Jesus, me and the other apostles are gonna sit around and kill off a couple of bottles of wine tonight, then write some tedious scrolls with these silly goose feather pens, you down for hanging out ? " - Paul

"Ahh, gee Paul, thanks for the invite, but I gotta go speak to god privately" (slips an address book and a pack of trojans under his robe, saddles up donkey and heads out for some sodomy ) - Jesus

Where is the evidence of Jesus or a God? Not faith nonsense - actually physical proof. I am in no way an expert, as religion for me should be chucked in the bin - it causes more fighting and deaths than anything else on the planet, imho, but from what I can see - there is absolutely no proof at all. I just cant see any evidence for Jesus' existence, or indeed of any God at all. I'd be pretty shit scared of meeting God - he's got a pretty shit sense of humour! We are now in a position where there is more proof of the existence of aliens than there is of a god.

If you believe in God - all power to you - no offence intended.

The man that healed the sick and turned clay into a living bird wasn't burdened with the pleasures of man. If you believe in the concept of Jesus, you have to believe that his mind was "all knowing", and he knew his purpose on earth. He was a teacher and a servant. He wasn't chasing women after the disciples went to sleep.

So here's one that get me - Adam and Eve were the first people on the planet, according to the bible - therefore, extrapolating the various different permutations of the children, at some point here, we have to face the point where incest happens - we cant avoid it.

Here's how I look at it. All the matter in the universe had to come from somewhere right? I understand what you're saying about religion causing violence, but that's man's pride that causes that. Believe or not, the Bible is a great book to read to understand how to become a better human.

The bible is a story book though, right? Its not fact at all. Earth wasn't made in 7 days, and Adam and Eve were not the first people on the planet. I am sure there are far smarter people that me that could highlight loads more inconsistencies. It just seems to me like it was a joke that has got WAY out of hand.

I will say - it does advocate how to live life well - it does have some pretty gnarly stuff in there though, like you'll die if you dont believe in him - that doesn't sound like a nice god at all.
