That's what I use, like the one on the left. You can get clearer images from pocket microscopes, but I just use my phone to look through the 60x eyepiece and I can see the trichs quite well.

I hate loupes. Hands are shaky and hard to tell if your seeing light refraction or actual cloudiness.

I suggest getting a usb microscope or try this.

Both ways you can record a video then you can scan the video for the best shots of the trichomes.

You miss alot with a loupe. Easy to study with a picture.

+1 for that, much better than a loupe imo.

What? That's a state of the art loupe. :mrgreen: Actually it works as good as a new one. It magnifies which is all that's needed. But I never use a loupe. I go by the overall look of the plant. I haven't looked at the trichomes in a very long time.
My father was the largest antique dealer in Long Island. That looks like what he used when I was a kid to check karat stamps on gold.

Honestly it brought me back mentally to being a kid for a moment.

When my sister was still around we'd go to antique shops looking for cool little things like that.
