good karma saves me all the time .........pass on what u learn later call it even

Deal. :) I really enjoy this stuff. Growing these plants is really a nice fun relaxing hobby and the reward at the end is just an extra bonus especially if I can get the most out of what I am doing. I want to learn all I can.

u might think auto plants then ...........it takes the light timing out of the whole thing and u can work on feeding skills with high turn over on experiments and strains

I've grown autos before and they're cool for quick harvest, decent yield and light cycle but if you want a good yield a regular plant is the way to go I've heard.

what is a good yield ........11 oz avg on auto ....or a 26 oz auto hydro dwc

unless u have the skills to read the plant feed the plant and tweak the environment....your not going to do much better then 6 or 7 on a photo soil 7 gallons

i been working on the skills for 2 years now ........if i can max out a Auto plant i can max out any plant .....autos with the short turn overs allow u a quicker learning curve
organics are great for simple use and taste ....but chemical is where u get your power in feed but the taste can be off and need to worry about micros

u have a computer
https://herbiq.codeplex.com/releases
this is herbIQ it is a nice little program made for growing and tracking/storing/giving u usable data.....get the 0.7.0 and install that main program then grab the 0.7.8 update it has a built in strain library plus program updates

have a look at the strains ........this will allow u to take pics and store info about what u did and all (been using for about year and half ) it is free

Thanks again man. I did 3 auto grows and after my first regular grow I got way larger of a yield and that's why I'll never go back. I think in my own opinion growing autos to full yield potential is harder than getting a good yield from a normal plant. I'd like to keep practicing with normal plants and be able to produce pound-2lb trees eventually :)

also what type of autos are you using that you're getting a pound?

narcotherpy
THC bomb
BioDiesel mass
berry diesel
blue cheese
blue mammoth (this was the hydro 26 oz in 110days)

have a look at the strain bank in the herbIQ it has all the breeders info (what u see on the web page about the plant before u buy the seeds) they copied all that info

auto flowers are now the little things anymore they got strain 300grams to 600 grams

here are pics of my newest soil
this is Yumbolt .......it should only be about 2 oz plant as u see this is going to do alot more then 2 oz
IMG_20150402_172851174_HDR.jpg IMG_20150402_172941748_HDR.jpg
nacrotherpy ....the sites and the branching i am looking at 8 oz at least
IMG_20150402_172953276.jpg IMG_20150402_173003875.jpg
Nacro Kush.....first time with this strain but at least 6 oz
IMG_20150402_173014702.jpg

all these are done under LED .......the HID heat was to much in the summer for me the 6000btu ac was not enough for 1000w and 600w

Fruit punch is another good yield making strain. Most Autos nowadays can produce up to 600 grams depending on grow medium ( soil vs. Hydro ). But the best things about Autos is that a grower can SAMPLE great variety of cross strains very quickly.

I am currently running a CHOCOSKUNK - AUTO ACID . And have a Blue Mystic wrapped in a paper towel just beginning to crack. They help the grower experience different phenotypes and their characteristics while they grow ( short internode lengths , hybrid , etc. ) , but no 2 plants will grow the same ( even same strain ) some of its genetic characteristics , behavior and appearance be somewhat changed based on enviromental conditions.

I agree with LED growing versus HID , most LED panels provide the more focused RED spectrum . I first grow them CFL ( 4 , 6 or 8 CFL 100-150w in custom hood ). I start them as seedling under 2 CFL ( 100w ) until they start to get their " Legs " then push up the light to 4 per plant ( with some distance from 6/8 inches ) then move to BLOOM tent with LED panel. Yields will change according to light schedule used. I also run 24/0 time schedule with CFL ( less power usage vs. HID ) and less heat . When in tent LED runs at 18/6 . You can also do 12/12 with AUTOS but was happier with giving them more light per day.

Hey budz, thanks for the reply. Very pretty plants.

Buying LED's and stuff like that is kind of out of the question at the moment. I'm gonna end up buying the hood that justugh linked to I think.

I enjoy growing with HPS and I'm sure everyone has their own preference. I'm definitely going to look into using LEDs in the future because I've heard very good things, but for the next few grows it will be with HPS. I use T5 Fluorescent to veg.

I just don't understand how you guys are getting such good yields with autos, I'm jealous honestly :p The reason I first started growing Autos(they were the first seeds I bought when I first started growing) was because I heard the things you guys are saying with good yields and quick harvest and I just wasn't able to produce those results. Barely a half oz a plant with a 400w light, which is why I switched to normal seeds. It's possible though it's because those were in 3 gallon pots when I was even newer to growing than I am now and didn't know better.

The other reason I like regular plants is because I don't have to buy seeds and I can clone. I've heard cloning autos results in herm plants, have you ever successfully cloned one?

it is just the feeding and soil
once u get that under your belt moving to photo's with longer times it is just easier to max the plants out

here to make it really easy on yah they just started selling bags again (order before they run out )
https://ideal420soil.com/cannabis-soil/shop

that soil will increase your yield .....alls u have to do is water the plant .........when u are ready order Go Box from amazon it is a all in one organic grow kit.......and start feeding the plant (u will see a huge different in what your returns are

once u understand Organic feeding u can change the soil out to something like roots organic or pro mix or ocean forrest ...........feed the plants in that soil and get the same returns u were from the ideal 420soil or close...........then u can move to chemical feeds and mixing in organics for the micros in the soil (chemical feeds have more power then organics ) organics are Auto ph adjusting with the right micros in the soil ...the organic feed feeds them and the plant

at that point u will be pulling in 6-11 oz a plant more with a 1000w

your grow .........use the T5s just to start the plants in veggie ........when they are 1 or set set of leaves out move it to a MH light .........u will get more growth out of a MH light then a T5 ........then just change the bulb out to a HPS for flowering

What type of soil nutes would you recommend for organic soil? The only GoBox I see is for hydroponics. Sorry for turning this into a discussion that isn't about grow design but you seem to know what you're talking about and I want to get the most out of you as I can haha

Also I was already thinking of doing the MH thing so you suggesting it means that it's gonna happen.

does not matter u are learning so put that out of your head

http://www.amazon.com/General-Hydroponics-Organics-Go-Box/dp/B004PS4B08
this is a all in one buy u do not need to buy anything else in feeds but this box it has everything u need for several plants

to make it easier to mix up feeds i tell ppl pipettes to transfer out Millilitters
http://www.amazon.com/Plastic-Transfer-Pipettes-Graduated-Pack/dp/B005CD2I50/
http://www.amazon.com/Plastic-Transfer-Pipettes-Gradulated-Pack/dp/B005IQTSE0/
1 ml and 3 ml makes it easy ........u can fallow the plan on the side of the box .....they are telling u to mix that amount into 1 gallon of water

this soil is the best i used on the market ..........it is basically super soil (super soil is soil mixed in with all the feed the plant is going to need .....u only need to water )
https://ideal420soil.com/cannabis-soil/shop

the other good ones are
Roots Organic (anything in the line but 707)
Fox Farms Ocean Forest ......this needs feeding but good results for years
PRO MIX or Sunshine Mix #4 .......good soils they have micros in the soil they sell several kinds

soil u can get at any store
Organic Gold (it is basically fox farms ocean forrest) this is the one u use when u have to settle

Right now I currently have 2 plants in 10 gallon Black Gold All Purpose Potting Soil and some others in generic MG organic soil in small pots that I will be transplanting on May 1st into Fox Farms Ocean Forest Organic potting soil. I assume since it's organic I'd need nutes. So that's why I am wondering what nutrients would be good to use for soil. I don't want to use anything they sell at home depot or lowes because that isn't the type of stuff that will help me.

it is soil .....been using it myself for years and it is always the one i tell ppl to start with

It comes with a few different nutes. Do you mix them all into one gallon of water, or do you mix each bottle into separate gallons and feed with different gallon nutes each day? Not much info on amazon and I don't want to screw up.

all into the same gallon........they have a feed plan on the side to help u fallow it ........then u learn to read the plant and increase them pushing the plant

the only thing i should tell u is the liquid fish one stinks .......the plant loves it but it will make the jugs stink (get a gallon pour out part of it into a mason jar and add the fish in there pour that on the plant then use the rest of the gallon of mix on the plant)

what ever feed u do not use u dump out ..........it will not keep until the next feeding in 2/3 days (bad micros can grow in it ) dump it out what ever is not used ( on a bush or something)

if I have 2 plants to water in a 10 gallon pot will that box last? Or will I have to buy more than one?
