Just a couple question about light coverage

Hey man, gonna be ordering the hood and the nutrients tomorrow hopefully. My plants will be set to 12/12 on the 19th.

Do you have a link to a guide to set up to the ducting and fan?

Right now what I was going to do was hook the fan to the cool hood and run ducting from the inline fan/hood up through my drop ceiling and cut a hole in one of the ceiling tiles and mount it so the duct can pull air through air-tight to pull the cold air from the basement room through into the lamp, Does that sound about right or am I doing it wrong?

The temp in the room is running at a steady 80F so I don't think I'll need to exhaust heat out, I just want to keep the lamp cool.

The leaves that are starting to grow out of the nodes are slightly yellow tinge so I need those nutes ASAP. Other than that they're bushy and beautiful, it's just the new growth on the one plant that has slightly yellow tinge.
ducting
the normal ducting is like this
carbon filter .....ducting......cooltube......ducting......fan......ducting ........ejection point (outside your air cycle)

if u are going the move u are talking about u still need a extraction of the used air and dumped outside of your cycle ..........what u are talking about is just running cool air ovr the bulb itself and not extracting with that fan

u do need to dump your used air other wise u lose power as time goes on more Oxygen then Co2 ......u have to dump that used air out (not the air u useing to cool the bulb but the air around the plants)

So what you're saying is as well as blow air over the bulb I need to put the ducting on the other side of the hood attach another inline fan to one side of ducting and attach ducting to other side to exhaust to the outside of the room?

Also I open the door to the closet frequently so air exchange isn't an issue I think I'm gonna just run air over the bulb so it doesn't get too hot until I have the money to buy another fan because as I said the temperature isn't warm enough to break a sweat.

[| carbon filter >>>> ducting >>>> cooltube >>>> ducting >>>> FAN >>>>>ducting > out]
This only uses one fan to suck air out of the grow space thru the filter, over the bulb and then pushes it out. Ventilation and light cooling in one system. More air exchange is always good for the plants.

i use his setup, its working a charm,

Temps are controlled (23C/73F) 6 inches below a 400W light in a hood and there is no smell. I have 6" ducting and a one 220cfm fan (in a 3.5'x3.5'x5' cave box).

yes, the airflow is running over the lamp due to the suction of the fan on the exhaust side. so it is being cooled.

PS: do you have an oscillating fan (like a normal desk fan) blowing thru the canopy? that is essential too.

Haha yes. Before I came to this awesome place and got advice from justugh I was using a basic 19" Wing with a 600watt bulb so I have a standing oscillating fan mostly to keep it cool and to blow air on the bulb, and a small desk fan for the plants. The room stays at a steady 80F

Also thank you for your input, everyone here is awesome.

i agree having a reg or oscilating fan or fans is needed.. i use 2 20 nch 1 osc 1 box fan both in veg and bloom ontop of my ventilation.. the little vibration the fan putts on ur stems creates a plant that can hold up monster buds w/out bending or breaking..having a big fan in veg and bloom are extremly important especially sog style, then u dont need sticks n ropes to hold up colas and big sides..
as far as led,, im not sold on it, its still improving and once u buy one, and new ones keep on coming u are in a place were u r constantly spending money to up grade..ill stick w/ the good old fashion hid's till the led's are perfected and cost eficient..i have a few friends who tried them a couple years ago,, threw them away and bought newer ones this year and the yields are far less than i get w my hid and we are all using roughly the same wattage...

@t3hg1nch he got u on the right track

if u have to much negative pressure u can make a filter box and powered intake ( in my journal how to make )

and if u put a fan inside u want it at bud lvl and to move ......if u get one that just blows turn it to blow in comer and make a wind pattern (direct wind can burn leaves if on to long)

i learned a nice trick for this get a paint can with a good amount of weight in it get a piece of pine furring strip (2''x1''x8') for 98 cents home depot get it cut or cut it to 4/5 feet........take the can put it on the ground wood or tile take the stick put it next to flush with ground and wrap it up with duct tape ( u made a stand ) when u put in tent put near a pole and use some tape or zip tie or one strap this keeps it from tipping over .........u can move the fan up and down as the plants grow/ u change them out

only other thing use a extension cord for the fan (that curl cord is a bitch)
talking about the 6 inch clip on fans that move
