Just got iPad...can't play YouTube videos

I can hear the audio but no picture, screen is black. Anyone know what the deal is?

yeah sounds like a firmware bug, you are using the app right? and not going to youtube.com-sometimes the website doesnt work correctly.

Looks like I need flash to play them...and apple doesn't support flash

I would return that shit ASAP.. in exchange for a new one (tell them your problems and whatnot)
you don't want to think "oh it's nothing big" then be stuck with a defective model..

I plan in getting an iPad 2 hopefully soon.. those things are badass

I've googled it and it's not my specific ipad, it's the way ipad/Apple is. The videos I cant view are the ones imbedded here, maybe that's where the compatability issue is

By the way, it is an ipad 2, and I couldnt return it anyway...I won it at work

As everyone else said, the YouTube App should work fine. Failing that watchthe HTML5 version.

Embedded videos should also work fine.

The youtube app works, maybe its Safari-related? When I m here on the ipad and click on imbedded videos its all dark but with sound

you are correct about the imbedding thing, i cant see or play the videos from youtube embedded on the site on my iphone4-but the site and app work fine. its not a bug.

This is my first apple product so there is a slight learning curve. I'm not really liking safari, but Firefox and even ie are not compatable with the iPad.... Kinda odd since macs will let you use them.

Oh well, I can't complain, it was free!

I had the same problem after I upgraded to IOS6. You have to reset everything to get it to work again and it will look completely different after you do it. This video helped me.

Theres a google Chrome app though! I just double checked... on the paul ryan thread (one of the 10,000) played just fine embedded. clicked video, popped up full screen and played just fine. But this is an Iphone 4s. I don't have the youtube app.
