forget you axion. its just crazy to see someone who people pay hundreds to see and i actually get to have a conversation with him and stuff. yeah him and chuckie were skating and they were cool they were having alot of fun with it. smoking with them would of been cool but i didnt really think of it haha. i dont listen to much of his new music. but it was a wonderful suprise to just stumble upon. axion i bet you would be hyped if you were doing your daily thing and someone famous was doing it also and you could shoot the shit with them. and its also crazy its kinda a early birthday gift since my birthday is tomorrow.
lol i forgot about that post right after i trolled it, and no i wouldn't care who i saw , i go to hollywood for cheap beer at a couple little bars sometimes on the weekend and find myself sickened everytime some tourist is dumbfounded by the site of a celebrity , however upon retrospect i was pretty freakin rude to you and i apologize .
i mean i apologize to the dude who started the thread , i remember being a teenager now and must admit that had Pam Anderson walked in to the rock gym with a soaking wet t-shirt on then i probably woulda had to fall all over them titties with my mouth wide open.

Not a wayne fan myself but those of you who go around spouting bullshit about how other people are talentless hacks better be fucking successful musicians... otherwise you really look like a judgemental hypocrite... let's see your raps, bro... right, didn't think so.

i can make a better song than some of his autotuned fuckin homo shit. it started with nwa and all those old ass rappers, they would never dare to touch that shit.
what i dont get is how people like his voice, it sounds like he has emphysema or some shit.

Post it then. Talk is cheap.

As for his voice... well, I don't know what to tell you. It's not appealing but it has it's charms as it represents self-acceptance in the face of great ego resistance. (ie, he's got a big fat ego keeping him all blocked up, but he can still spit it, which is somewhat impressive unto itself.)

And yeah, I hate his autotuned singing. That shit is ridiculous. I only like a couple of his tracks, and they definitely don't have him singing in them. Fuck that.

Don't get me wrong... I'm not saying that better songs can't be made... on the contrary... I'm simply saying that it's pretty retarded to go around saying you could best him on message boards because you don't like his music. At the very least I would expect someone in such shoes to provide some evidence.

Just sayin'

Same here some of his older shit was cool, there was this one jam where he was like " I'm tatted up more than the Harlem station" or some shit like that, but that was a down song.

I like a total of maybe like 2.5 songs, haha. Meaning I really like two songs, and then there's maybe one that I can enjoy but don't find that great... the rest of his stuff I will leave to his fans I guess...

You are a gem of this site.

I disn't even want to like this guy. I basically completely shut my ears to rappers beyond 1999 and once Top of the Pops came off the tv I haven't acknowledged much new music. I really wanted to say 'just another one' but after T-bird made me listen to him I found myself thinking this guy is actually a great wordsmith with a sense of humor. Like Eminem, he's a storyteller, prone to analogy, referencing himself in past lyrics, double entendres and seems like he's thinking out loud alot.

The 6ft 7ft video really did it for me. I'm not going to pretend I'm his biggest fan and I love all his music but give the guy some credit. I know you're a little jaded Axion. I never thought I'd be a starstruck fan girl until I met author Mark Haddon and cried in front of him when he signed my book.

microphones arent so cheap when you blow your money on seeds and shit, but i think any song is better than his autotuned shit and thats all i think of when people say his name. as well as his lame ass rock album. everyone sells out, but thats beyond it. he fucked up.
i like good old shit. and dont get me wrong he was good, its kind of how snoop sort of sucked but hes slowly coming back, same with wayne and plenty of other rappers. i like people who keep it real, gang starr, eazy e, curren$y and notorious gotta be some of the realest rappers out there. well, now they're dead so were stuck with these candy ass rappers only talkin about money and shit. biggie and all them spit about experience.

Are you seriously going to sit there and tell me the reason you can't provide evidence of your "superior skill" is because you can't afford or find a microphone? Dude, there's one built into my laptop. How big is your ego that you can't just say "Oh, I was talking shit"? Jesus...

You make some good points regarding how artists sometimes progress too far. I agree his auto-tune and rock stuff is way off base. He's just experimenting, though. I have more respect for a man who fearlessly tries what he wants regardless of public opinion than I do for those who go around spouting negativity about artists who have achieved massive success... just sayin.

If he's anything like some of the more progressive rock artists I listen to, he may very well shift back to what works when he realizes how unappealing his singing is...

Thanks, Kuroi... :D I had the same reaction initially. Didn't want to like him. Eminem got me in the door, though. Wayne's raps contrasted against eminem's are a blessing. Em's raps are a lot of fun but they're so fast and furious... it needs balancing... and wayne's slow-roll-style can really compliment it at times.

Wtf how did I quote myself instead of ... XP oh well.

You're welcome <3 Agreed again.

About rapping about money and stuff, don't they all? And if they don't, someone attacks them for being a sellout if they really are 'from the hood' or for being a poser if their upbringing was not suitably hard. Lil Wayne does so much parody and not taking anything too seriously, I take it as a bit of satire, like he's laughing at himself and the stereotypes of other rappers a bit.

I agree with the self acceptance thing too, because he doesn't pretend he's Pavarotti. He takes the piss a bit. Like you, I only like a handful of tracks. Yup, experimentation. People will either complain about sb artist not stepping out of the box or shoot them down for trying. At least he learned to play guitar instead of just hiring some random band. He's not really trying to be a rockstar unlike some annoying blonde pop singers I've seen... How to Love is autotuned to hell but I like the song, not his voice and it's not trying to hide anything or be too clever. *shrug* Will stop there and leave it to the Lil Wayne thread in the Music section.
