Heard they're a rip-off...skip the learning curve with t5's and CFL's and save your money - go for a 600w HID. Best bang for your buck. Flower 12/12 with the lights on at night to save energy and to help keep it cool. Veg with a t5 - the growth is incredible.

Yea I currently have 3 tents with Apollo 600 hps/mh fixing to expand and add 8 more I never used led before and was curious because they use less power was thinking of putting 2 of those led in each tent because they were on sale now I thinking maybe that why lol I appreciate the feed back

How many HID's can you get for the price of 2 Kind LED's? The energy savings is only realized after many many grows and that's if the LED's perform well. Once I see professional growers going nuts over LED's, I'll consider it. It's like HDTV's - the price will come down eventually and you'll feel like the biggest dummy like me for spending $1,500 on a 47" LCD screen when 2 years later 65" LED smart TV's are $600.

900 watt led is on sale for $99 one air cooled hid I pay close to $300 for good quality 600 watt and if you was avid grower like I am you should realize the cost of each and be able to give advice not hear say I'm looking for advice from well experience led grower thank you for your feed back

HAHAHAHA - you said KING. I thought you said Kind - which are at least halfway legit compared to what you're talking about. Yeah man, have fun with those $100 LED's and enjoy wasting 4 months on a low-yielding grow and be ready to replace that light a few times a year too.

Kind LED's are $1,500, which is why I said you can get quite a few HID's for the single LED. You're talking cheap-o knock-off Chinese made LED's.

Just purchased the Kind K5 1000 and couldn't be happier with results, so far. I can't compare to HID or MH as I went from T-12's and CFL's.

well yeah, if you are going from t12's and cfl's to a kind k5 1000 the difference will be phenominal. but so would going from the t12's to hps so that really doesnt speak to the quality of the kind led

hell, going from t12's to t5's would be a huge improvement. please don't think i'm bashing you though just making a point is all. kind leds would be considered low to mid level leds where as the king and any other chinese knockoffs would be considered straight garbage. Cob leds are high end and the way to go for leds if you can afford them. me personally, i cant afford to replace 4kw worth of hids with cobs so i stick with hps. heat isn't much of an issue for me as i vent them

keep in mind large grow ops use hid for a reason. if the prices on cob leds were alot cheaper i would consider switching but they are just not economical right now

@OneToyStory I almost pulled the trigger on the same led you have as a comparison to one of my 1kw hids (have heard good and bad things about them) but i just couldnt do it. all that matters though is that you are happy with the results

Lights have only been up two weeks; although I'm happy with it thus far, only harvest time will tell. I won't hijack this guys thread and re-explain my set up (I posted under newbie) or why I chose it but there is a 90 day return policy with the Kind LED and that helped make the purchase easier. I'm 4 weeks into flower now and still looking at another 6-8 weeks of flowering for this (unknown) strain.
