Late planting : does flowering depend on 12/12 light change or the strain?

I have several feminized Northern Lights which sprouted on 20 July. All plants are in 10 litre containers on outdoor balcony attached to house, climate hot Mediterranean, max 30°C, min 22°C. I am now on day 33, plants are all about 30cm tall, all topped.
Since I sowed the plants late, will they automatically enter flowering stage after 7 weeks, as indicated by breeder? Or will they continue vegging until just after the Equinox, 25 September - 12/12?
I asked the same question re another strain, Master Kush, sown outside in same conditions a month earlier, and was told by the breeder that flowering would start on 25 September. I am inclined to doubt that as these Master Kush on Day 56 are now showing preflowering.
Has anybody any experience of what is likely to happen?

12/12 is what indoor growers use because it is easy to do. It does not apply to outdoor growing.If your seeds are not autos, they will flower when the nights get long enough for the strain to trigger. A good rule of thumb is nights longer than 10 1/2 hours {which means days shorter than 13 1/2 hours} will make them flower. But the strain will determine exactly when it happens. Use weather underground, or some other site to determine the length of day. Just search for your town.

Thank you. It's half and half. Here, light is 13hrs 40; so 10 1/2 is about 5 days away

I forgot to mention the plants have to reach sexual maturity before they flower. That is at 4-5 weeks. Most likely the Northern Lights will start to flower soon after they reaches maturity. The Master Kush is already there, so it will start when the light is right.
