The police wont EVER catch you, there is people with vivariums, oil heaters etc, theres just far to many variables to suggest your growing cannabis, the only way I could ever seeing it adding to evidence is if your selling or someone grassed on you to police and they send a chopper over house to try and get more evidence for an warrent for your arrest...

Otherwise if noone knows you grow, you haven't told anyone and your the only who knows you grow then the chopper will bypass as you could have a vivarium, oil heater or anything and if they where rading everytime they saw a heat sig then they probably be bankrupt.

Did you know the human body gives of more heat than your grow room.

I don't know if i go as far to say they won't "EVER" catch you... There's too many dumb people out there that set themselves up (tell a lot of people, have a lot of traffic, have a really massive grow, steal electricity, etc...)

But as long as your running a grow for your own personal consumption, w/ limited electricity use, low traffic at your house and no evidence left out w/ your trash you have no reason to be paranoid and probably won't get caught...

Well...yes you can get busted by flir...if you have converted an entire house to a grow op.

I live right under the 3 little pigs brick house. they fly that goddamn helicopter over my house all night and day...like a freaking war zone around here...they are looking for brown people running for their lives, not a heat sig in your house.

Now if you are growing outdoors...say in an avocado grove...it is game on...and they will probably steal your crop.

More incorrect information, the smallest of grows can be detected by FLIR as Barry Cooper has proved on several occasions.

Fact: With the proper precautions you can run a very low risk of being busted, but, you can never count on never being busted.

There are lots of heat signatures that can be seen from IR cameras. The larger the heat source, the brighter. The brightest seen by far, are people running and cars speeding...we have all seen cops.

Yes they can see. Unless you have a huge op, it just does not stand out.

Although the info that the ex-piece of shit pig Barry Cooper shares in an effort to redeem his soul and his pot head wife is useful...none of us go dig up/bury a bag of weed in an effort to not get caught buying/selling.

They know they need other evidence (yes a huge heat sig could get a warrant) and could undoubtedly get it legally or not.

They also are busy, especially in jurisdictions that have air support.

There are bigger fish to fry. Be a small fish and sleep well.

All this being said....it is still nerve racking as hell when that f'n helicopter is gunning it's motor circling vaguely directly over my house...trust me.

Neighborhood do-gooders are your biggest worry...if they complain...the piggies may eventually have to do something...like knock on your door...do not answer it! Be mindful of your smell and ideally have no visitors.

Now...if you live in an upper middle class suburb in Middle America where there is very little crime and you are growing anything more than a couple...be afraid...cuz they ARE out to get you!

flir isn't going to distinguish a grow room unless you have hella watts or else everyone running a space heater would get the police at the door. a space heater is around 1000 watts and lots of people have more than five so unless your in it for the money your chances are pretty slim of getting caught if you can KEEP YOUR DAMN MOUTH SHUT

Dude your only gonna get caught with a ganja factory ie 1000 + Plants, how many ganja factory posts on RIU?

This is quite a common question asked and 99% of the time the people dont have more than 20 plants. I want to lay this to rest and ease peoples minds, as unless you have any ideas of growing 1000+ plant, which if your gonna grow 1000+ then I should expect you know what you are doin and probably take some safety measures.

But as I say how many ppl asking the question have a ganja factory?........
