True, but that is besides the point.

We already know and have a substantial amount of evidence that our government cannot keep information secret. Anon (the hacking group), has hacked the DOD, the CIA, Sony, etc etc. If the government is collecting this information, it is undoubtedly being stored in a database on a server connected to the internet somewhere. Therefore, if someone wanted to badly enough, they could get to all of that information and do several things with it, none of which would be helpful, all of which would be harmful. Think of what someone could do with every phone call, txt, etc, of millions of individuals. Selling it would be extremely easy.

I mean your day to day routine is commercial info. Just like every product has a barcode that allows suppliers to track transactions and gain intel on markets. That information is valuable enough to justify trillions of adhesive barcode labels being produced far more quickly than they can biodegrade.

Does anyone think that REAL terrorists just gab on the phone all day with the really bad terrorists in other countries?

No one knows how to use encryption? Use a public phone? Use someone elses phone? Hell it is ULTRA easy to get onto a phone line, especially land lines. $130 butt set and you can do all sorts of crazy crazy shit with the phone system. Its not even hard or too technical.

I think if someone were intent on doing maximum damage that they would not be so careless or reckless as to have unsecured communication.
