My hydro store guy has never thrown me bullshit... but he has been talking up these LEDs from Illumitex.
He has one setup in his shop running in a side by side setup with a 600w MHC. He pulled out a PAR meter and it is killing the 600w cmh.
I don't know much about PAR watts, other than what they are in general..
Also impressive was that even on the far border of a 4x4, the light was nearly just as intense as it was under the center of the unit.
Hydro star guy tells me that this was part of the advance that Illumitex has made... the optics.

Has anyone tried out these lights from Illumitex? A 300w fixture retails at $1349. My guy says he will give it to me for a $1000. I think i could talk him down a little more.

Supposedly this company has gone beyond what others have done... with a little research into the company, I saw that they are definitely no joke.
They are making LED lighting for residential, commercial and agriculture.
They just received $9.2 million in investments... they have raised $50 million in investments since their creation... so, it's no Mickey Mouse outfit. They are located in an area with a very strong semi-conductor industry... that makes me a little more optimistic. I'm sure some former employees from the local semi conductor company were probably involved in the creation of Illumitex.

It would be sweet if someone else has tried them... I have been happy with my 600HPS... but I am thinking about replacing one of my 600s with one of the LEDs... I wish they made higher wattage.

600watts LEDs is as good as 1000w HPS for bud density and most likely for trichs production, or maybe not, who knows! That company sound legit but it's so hard to tell. I am very happy with fero/area51.

go to 2.20 for big buds.

One of the first light I bought was from HSS and had no cooling fans and the website looked pretty legit (And still does) but I paid way too much money for a light that is only good for seedlings. That is why I say it's hard to tell. Marketing...

I hear you... I haven't really been interested in LED in the past. But he really talked this one up...
I would like to cut back my power consumption at some point.

Hang on I`ve seen these lights yeah your mostly paying for the fact there water proof I mean hose pipe or a storm anything they keep working.

hmmm... interesting.
i don't know yet. i might try out one in the spring. Just pull out one 600 and put in this 300. there will be a 600 still on each side of the LED, so the hope is that I cut 300ish watts and don't lose much yield.

Well if you don`t mind paying out just because there`s other 300w led`s out there for that kind of money or less that would kick just as much ass, I`m not sure I could ever dump $1200 on a 300w led light

I almost considered doing that for a 400w budzilla but then I a company in china that infact I`m told make them for budzilla and I ended up paying 300usd a unit for a 300w light that uses 4 huge led chips.

They`ll build the whole unit to order and ship it to you, I mean you`ll save 600 to 700 usd now the light your looking at might be a tad better or it might not it`s only solid advantage is that it`s water proof so if you don`t need that as a feature then try asking in the led thread what the best 300 to 600w led light is for $1200 it`s a pretty big budget to a lot of us led people that make out own stuff or have our own stuff made to order instead of paying a company to hold it in stock in our country and advertise and sell it to you.

Just saying they need to make a mark up then so does your hydro store at least 2 people maybe 4 have made a living off selling most lights just as sales men before they come to you some finding someone even usa based to do a custom light for you might work out cheaper or better or both ?

Hmm.. this light sounds quite a bit different. From what I saw... it has 54 leds that, if remember correctly, are grouped in 2's and evenly spread over the fixture.
I have seen that most others use larger groups. Like one circle of packed Leds, or several squares.
Although this light could just be the same as all of the others, saying all it offers above any other light is waterproof is a little presumptuous.

I'm just starting to look into all of this..
do you know what kind of bulbs your LED uses?
I searched for the bulbs used on the Budzilla, but I cannot seem to find anything that gives many details on it. I see the price of $1099.99 around.

I could check my spec`s for the order I placed but I think I lost them

I requested they use 45mil leds with only 630nm and 360nm at a ratio of 5:1 so my chips are not what comes in the stock budzilla`s as mine were made to order by vanq

Vanq will use pretty much any chip you want I think I mean the price will be effected but you`ll never hit that budzilla price.

If there going to be running with a bunch of hps`s then I`d go for a red and blue mix other wise I`d get some white or uv and IR put into the mix but I always planned to run mine with cfl or induction or hid lights too there just red/blue par producing machines I never had mine built to be a full spectrum grow light I just wanted them to put out the most par they could as cfl`s and induction struggle to put the levels of 630nm I think you need to get super crystal weed

but that`s for my grow that`s weed that is just for me and it`s my hobby and it`s one of them things where I try not to worry about how much it cost`s I just want the best weed I can get for as much money as I can afford to spend on it, and so far it`s been better then anything I`ve seen being sold in my area for the last year at least, people hassle me for a bong of my weed when they have a joint of their own weed in their hand, so it can`t be too shabby.
