Then DE HPS is the way to go. 4 lamps, 2 ton A/C, 150.00 dehue, and some peat soilless. Run air exchange few times then jump straight to co2, GH nutes, some tomato cages. Fucking simple. You'd have the best marijuanas on the market for sure.
You plan in using the entire space? I assume not, and more likely a 10'x10' or maybe 8'x8'? Are you gonna be using tents or do you have the option to have them openly in the room?

Also, I'm guessing g this is a bedroom? You just dont got the height for DeHPS.

Open fucking room with viewing windows for the cops to see.

Of course. My wife and i sleep on the couch. Dope in the bedrooms!

You wouldn't know this because you've never ran DE hps.
Why are you so angry...the op asked for opinions..
Peace and I hope all is well.

I grow led also. You and Airwalker are mad at me because I also use HPS and might love it even more.
My friend you are so wrong. I'm sorry you feel this way. I do not know him, nor you. I act as a mirror as much as I can. As in people get what they project.
Neither Airwalker nor you have ever shown ill to me...in fact I'm sure I have listened to advice from each of you, when I first joined. I have no part in any feud you two may or may not have.
Peace.

I'd focus on the room, rez, environment (de-hu, AC, Fans, genetics, timers, potts ect. Unless you have most of that already.
10x12 bedroom or high ceiling commercial space?
4500, can start up a 10x12 quite nicely.
Or if you have most of what you need then your led research is key now.
Electrical efficiency is not everything nor is spectrum. Its a nice split down the middle that has provided the results.
Minimum spectrum play I'd use would be 35k, 660, 740nm (need the blue & the n/ir or 740nm, 660+740=Emmerson Effect+). Simple, highly efficient & effective. Check heatsinks for proper cooling (no such thing as to much heat dissipation). If there's nothing to it, it probably won't last. You'll want covered diodes. Avoid Lights with Drivers mounted directly to the bar or board. If encased then its all in one & will have to go with reputation of build quality vs service + warranty. Reputation helps but isn't everything. There are plenty of good companies not getting the credit they deserve.
Efficacy #'s do not tell the whole story.
When judging solely off posted efficiency #'s, Spectrum is often overlooked. As well as fixture design which often effects canopy coverage. Though its good to have when it is true as a baseline. The point is to double your photons per watt consumed while increasing quality.
Some are finding CMH + LED to work well. Generally those using white or wh/r leds as the cmh fills the desired gaps, led provides efficiency, photons & often some red with a smoother curve, so they compliment each other.
Companies recently started making efficient leds that include the full spectrum or darn close. I have yet to meet a person using one. Mine is pre-paid & Ima waitin patiently.
Plenty of options for efficient leds nowadays. Only a few for full spectrum which maximizes the plants morphological abilities. Remember- efficiency vs spectrum to get the best of both.
Warrenty & reputation. Lack of reputation isn't so bad as the innovators or often ignored by the majorities who are used to & happy with what they have. Then copied by the more popular companies later.
Bad reps & multiple complaints should be avoided no matter what. Cheap Burples or 200w/1200w equivalents should be burned.
Goodluck!
1800w of properly enhanced spectrum bar lights (16 bars) just gave me 7.3#'s. X2 lights, 12x4 of mostly canopy. X4 plants. Bag appeal & density through the roof.
Just don't see myself doing that with Any HPS.
I have these and a 14000btu portable ac unit... would these work or no?!?!?15860373412276907445430185297132.jpg15860373869033210057620784928662.jpg15860373412276907445430185297132.jpg

So, on the one hand you mention how you like hps and on the other you mention led.
Seriously, just curious about your hps set-up and your 1800 watt LED set-up what is your total wattage for that set-up.
I agree with your post. It seems that many chase spec's and lose site of the eye test.
I'm not looking for super production from my grows. I just want the medicine that I grow to be the most appealing that it can be. I grow a lot of high CBD strains. I want my patients to enjoy taking their medicine.
So, I'm not opposed to going led again. I just want to KNOW that they are up to the task.
I'd like to find a fixture that can do it all. I. E. Far red, uvb an IR. It sounds like you are supplementing your LED's to make up for what they lack. Is that correct?
Thanks

Thats a good start. If you're upstairs or in a regular room a window AC will cool better then a portable.

The bars i have on that side of the room are enhanced white. Meaning the supplementation is built in to the factory spectrum. They are a not totally complete full spectrum but pretty close.
The one including 385nm is pre-paid for.
Depending on how you supplement or what spectrum you use, will have a large roll in bag appeal.
They are x2 fixtures, each having a different spectrum. This allows x2 strains of the same under each, providing x2 different looks. Mix the same strain from each light & have a nice mix of green n purple buds depending on your strain they can change different colors.
My hps room served me well. I can't knock it, especially for starting up.
Those cbd plants be looking just as sweet as the thc plants .

Thanks for responding. It sounds like you are covering all of your bases. Healthy plants - happy farmer!
