LED Lighting (Noob Help)

I have a 1,000 watt LED light, It was expensive and said it had all the colors of the sun (Im high sorry). Basically what I am here to ask is; 1. How high should my light throughout the growing process? 2. How close should my plants be to my light?
Information
1. My LED light is 1,000 watts. This beautiful machine has a nob on top of it, that allows me to lower my light, down to 500 watts. As I began to grow my plants (2nd or 3rd month now) I would at random turn my light up from 500 watts to 1,000 watts for about an hour. As of now I have two rows of plants being covered by this light, The back row are auto flowering plants, that are budding right now, and the front row are regular and have ways to go before i decide to bud them. Should my light be on full blast right now?
2. How close should my plants be to my light? Right now i have all of them almost touching the light. They are all getting an equal amount of light, but some of my leaves look like they are, well burnt.. Should I raise my light a couple of inches up? or should I just water them more often?

If I have left any important Information out please let me know, Im okay with being laughed at or being told im stupid, as long as it also comes with some valuable Information. Thank you.

you should A,post some pics of your setup.and B tell us what brand light your using.
but if it is in fact 500 to 1000w it should be a good 18inches about the tops of your plants or they will cook.maybe closer if your planning to keep it @ 500w but i would still give it 12-14 inches of space.
