LED question

This is probably a redundant question however I hope someone can give me an answer.

I currently have a 400W MH/HPS with reflector to grow under and was considering adding or switching to LED lighting. So,my question...

Is 1 90W UFO LED light enough to equal the output of my current HID lighting? If so would it help or hurt to add the LED to my current HID setup? My current grow space is about 5ftX5ftX6ft high with mylar on walls. I gow about 5 plants at 1 time.

Also, if I were to use the UFO for veg in another room is 1 enough to get 5 plants to flower stage?

I use an LED and there is no way the 90w can come close to your 400W. the lumens are probably enough but the area is not big enough. adding the LED light on the sides would probably help a lot. vegging 5 plants would work with 120W LED or bigger. again it's not that the lumens arn't there it's how much radius of light you get. If you put it high enough over the plants it spreads out but then you lose the intesity of the light.

For vegging you might be able to get away with it if you higher the lights a bit, get a cheap light meter and see how far you can go with out stretching the plants. As for flowering, no way unless you combine it with the 400 watter hps. Leds seem to make buds frosty and more potent so not a bad idea to add them in as suppliment lighting in flower but you would save alot of $$ using it to vegg your plants into monsters before flower.

My only objection to LEDs are growth hieght during vegg is really slow but thats becuz the plants are more compact, Stocky and fat or mabe becuase i use a 600 watter in a tiny grow room to vegg my plants.
