Legal growing vs stealth growing

I don't know, I grow in a legal state but I'm still cautious. The maintenance guy at the building I live in took me up on the roof today, he's growing a handful of fairly small plants without much know how. Who knows though. But I'll say that in recent years, going back as far as 2008ish, I noticed high times and skunk and some of the other magazines were just reprinting the same stuff, sometimes tweaked to look different. There have been so many changes since then though, especially in the world of LEDS, and the legal cannabis industry, so who knows. Your post makes me want to pick up an old High Times but my old copies are long gone..
I was noticing that… Some of the old posts that specifically pertain to particular types of lighting haven’t had posts in years! But that’s kind of obvious due to heat and economics. But sometimes what you think might be “obvious“ or intuitive is not always correct. That’s what I’m here for. Just here to learn.
Yeah it's nice ain't it? And recently my local town police chief got suspended and than resigned which I'm happy about considering he was trying to pass weird marijuana laws on a local level but was turned away by the state board because what he was trying to do was illegal and he is all in all a corrupt tyrant and high school bully lol.
My buddy works at a credit union in a high position, and he tells me all the management is all worked up about how legalization might impact the workplace…. Got these people all worked up that weed is a “steppingstone” drug.

Maybe similar to how Jesus doesn’t like abortion. …. Not to get political or religious or anything. You’re free to have whatever religious or political views you want without judgment from me. …. Well… Maybe a little judgment on the political…

When you grow in a legal state you need to be more concerned about goons than cops. I would always suggest growing stealth even if its 100% legal.

I use large carbon filters in each grow space to constantly scrub the air, I do not exhaust any air outside, I don't put air conditioners in the windows or have light showing outside, block any basement windows using lattice and black panda plastic inside to keep it looking as "normal" as possible and to avoid someone crawling through your window. Don't leave pots outside or any obvious grow shit in the open if possible.
use ductless air conditioners like mini-split units, add a liquid propane co2 generator to your room with a co2 controller.

hadn’t really thought too much about someone breaking into my greenhouse. Would be very easy to do. Pretty much just start stuff there and will be moving it either outdoors or in if winter time.

Even though they’re mostly old people living around me, and kind of a dead-end road, guests come up, and if I were a young punk, I could even see my devious mind go to work

Nobody’s gonna be breaking down the door to see how many plants you have.. I work in healthcare, so I’m a little paranoid how it might impact my job if anything happened. I got a DUI some time ago and thought the world was going to end with my job… Turns out other people have gotten DUIs in my field before me. Who knew!
I’m in healthcare too. I failed my wiz quiz and still got hired. I had a coworker tell me he failed 20 years ago and still got hired. It’s essentially a case by case issue it seems. The more skilled/experienced you are the more likely they’ll turn a blind eye.

Well… I am new to this site, so forgive me if I am asking question that should be easily found by search. I did a search, but could not find what I was looking for.

I pulled out my old High Times magazine grow issue from 1999 and was surprised to see so much of the information from 23 years ago seems to be still pertinent.

(A lot of fun flipping through that old magazine… Double page photos of gigantic buds almost like playboy centerfolds every few pages.)

anyway… Back then, all of the articles understandably seemed to be catering to stealth growers.

now we live in an age where almost half of the states are legal. I live in Minnesota where I can grow outside “under lock and key“ or otherwise inside without worrying about smells, neighbors or our friendly neighborhood law enforcement officers.

I would imagine at least some/most of the advice I can find on this site is more catered toward stealth growers.

is there a forum here that discusses alternative grow methods for those of us who do not have to be so discreet?

Welcome to RIU. Happy reading

Oops….got it…. Not on here, but through a general, google search. “ see of green” …. And screen of green.

(Just posting instead of deleting in case, anybody else tries to search for it)
Thanks… and sorry

I come from medicine. During my tenure in healthcare I did not smoke or drink (even caffeine) I could not afford a tremor while working under a microscope. On the upside we were never tested and on vacations with friends there was some imbibing but most were responsible enough they only imbibed when they were far enough away that even when not on call we wouldn't be impaired if an emergency popped up.

I hope they develop better tests for real time impairment as opposed to simply a use flag.

Sea of Green and Screen of green. In the first instance you grow many plants pruned to single stems or close so they form a dense canopy. Scrog is a method of training plants to grow laterally through a horizontal trellis or screen

Politics is pretty much forbidden outside of the politics forum, it helps keep the peace.

I agree, we need better real time testing.

Since we’re federally regulated it is still frowned upon. I’m kind of a floater so I’m always moving back and forth between hospitals. If I pissed off the wrong people they can request I be tested. I just try to stay professional at work and It goes against my nature to piss people off. Once we federally legalize it’s going to change so much.

I am going to go insane when it happens. Only reason I only keep one or two plants, I always keep hash anyway. Something is supposed to happen end of this year hopefully. A review.

De-scheduling, re-scheduling, at the federal level will change the entire game. I can't wait to see some of the university researchers get their hands on this. It's an exciting and promising future.

I love that smell…. I actually considered doing it just in my bedroom. . Or in the bathroom off my bedroom. Can’t believe I’ve gone 30 years without realizing I can smoke ( or eat) without getting totally blown away.
I like it too but from a gram or 2.when you have 1kg its soo strong....
