I hesitate to add this, because it's liable to touch off even more drama in this thread, but it has been my experience since switching to 12/1 and 8/16 light schedules, nearly all plants I start and finish indoors end up ripening faster. I've been running things for 3 years this way so far. I've written about my experiences in other threads previously.

I learned about it from Joe Pietri, who wrote more about this:

Cannabis can only uptake 8 hours of light energy for photosynthesis, its tanks are full.

When you give it more light energy, the plant goes into photosynthesis protection, which use up energy and shuts down CO2 intake.

So now you are using the energy received to its utmost potential, no energy wasted, no CO2 shutdown, the plant now has 16 hours to grow fatter buds and produce more resin than ever before. 8 on 16 off in flower is the game changer.
I definitely don't buy my seeds or anything else from him, BTW. I've read his books and the best takeaways I found was this growing schedule. It led me to purchasing the Greenhouse Management textbook which backs up a lot of his claims.

Plants also finish faster in small containers. I have no scientific data to prove that just observations over the years. I've had clones of the same plant in different size containers and the ones in the smaller pots seem to finish faster. I'm not talking large pots but the same plant grown in a 3 gallon pot and a 2 liter pot. The 2 liter are done earlier than the 3 gallon.

Just harvest your plants when you want. I looked at some of the 8 week examples people have posted in this thread and it looks like they grew some good weed. They chopped at 8 weeks but I would have waited a couple more before I considered them ready. I let mine go long. Maybe it's because I hate trimming so much that I put it off as long as I can. I'm happy with my harvest and if others are happy with theirs then why does it matter when someone chops their plants.

An exception is the posts asking "Is this ready?" and a plant covered in white pistols and a grower wanting to chop because they spent an hour and finally found an amber trichome. That's just impatience.

Let’s also not forget something here @xtsho @lusidghost @Milky Weed @PopAndSonGrows @twentyeight.threefive

I’m seeing a similar picture from all the finished in under 50 days tribes.

most of their plants are multicoloured at harvest time of various shades of yellow, orange, pink and purple.

all these quick finishing plants seems to be the most colourful ones.

2 opinions on this.
Either purple or colourful genetics seems to ripen faster.

or
Creating nutrient deficiencies causes your plants To ripen early.

Just a thought to discuss.

Chopped at day 53 dry nugs from plant posted earlier. There are definitely phenos that will finish in 8 weeks and smack. I didn’t believe it until I found this pheno. I’ve flowered it twice from clone now to be sure I wasnt seeing things. Have a whole 4x4 of it going now View attachment 5095537
That looks like some nice bud. I’m not saying there aren’t strains that finish that fast. How was the yield?

Back on topic; a dear old friend gave me these:

They're seeds, I just realized you can't see the contents. .. He dusted a few ladies with Humboldt Seeds Blueberry Muffin pollen. We got Fuji Apple Cookie, Vanilla Frosting and GG4. Hoping to find some 8-weekers here. I'm especially excited to try the FACxBBM.

Seed plant yielded just over 3oz in a number 3 nursery pot of soil.
In a 4x4 tester area shared with 9 other plants.

Two clone runs were done in 1/2gal soil in a small 2x2 tent just to verify finishing time. Both of those yielded 32g and 35g. Imo that’s a good return for such a small pot.

Put 6 full size clones into a 4x4 this week for the third run of this clone. Knowing the plant now I think I can do pretty well with it.

Do you have a journal? I'll follow along on the journey.

Ok so it does seem to be fairly common. They mostly seem to be similar bud types too. No monster chunky buds.

the deficiency thing did cross my mind also. This is the first plant I’ve had these issues with so between the smallish buds and quick turning pistils I considered it might be related.

curious to see if they swell up much after a week or Two.
