Hank 2 was literally singing about me and mine. “We come from North California and south Alabam, and little ole towns all around this land”. Trust me, this country boy can survive. Don’t make the mistake most do, California doesn’t mean yuppie when you get off the coast. I’ve lived in the hills and mountains my whole life, I’d say politics aside, we’re probably more alike than either of us would like to admit.

Your last sentence said it all about our republic, we have issues. Secularism has brought this nation to the precipice. There’s those that follow what the fathers laid out, and there’s those that want to bastardize or undo it all. I see no easy way out. The last time shit got this bad, it took a world war to reunite the country.

Try lake effect and foraging for supplemental food sources. Cali is tame compared. A few locations worse.

I live where the settlers came across the Sierras. California killed them, not the Rockies. Most of the rest of the nation is tame compared. We have good forage through the liveable months. I’ll be honest, my winter and high elevation forage skills could use some sharpening.

I don’t really worry too much about the citiots, they have a hard time aiming with the firearm sideways, lolz. I hope we do all want the same; life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. I see a lot of government overreach fucking with all three of those. I literally pray that the tree of freedom doesn’t get fed in my kid’s lifetime.

In that aspect, it instills more fear for the future. We have a generation unaccustomed to life as our republic knew it for over two hundred years. When I look around, I don’t see the vibrant love for America and our fellow countrymen that was everywhere as recently as the 80’s. When you judge a nation, look to the children. When I look at the last two to three American generations, the kids aren’t alright.
