little technical support needed

Im uploading a video as we speak to youtube so the problem can be seen in person. I will link it when its finished.

Pretty much, I went cheap on my second setups fan thinking "its only a fan" and went with the CAP valuline 8". The guy I bought it from on ebay either sent me the wrong one by mistake or just upgraded it to a 10" for some reason or another.

Anyway I recieved it yesterday before work. I threw it in the kitchen and headed out. Today I unboxed it and heard rattling. It seems the fan blade is disconnected from the motor. I plugged it in and yes this was the case. Motor spins freely but the blade just sits there. I have tried to get the blade to seat properly on the motor but it just wont go on flush (pretty sure I could get it if I take it apart, but I did not pay money to fix my shit when I got it). I was going to get a can fan again because I like the 6" im running now.

My question is, has anyone experienced this and is the fix as simple as I think? I definitely have cap wrote off in the future of ALL future purchases now.

So all in all, would you keep it and fix it as I did get an upgraded 10" (or what looks to be a downgrade now ;) ) or should I send it back and get my damn can fan? Video incoming in a few minutes....

Watched your vid. It looks like the fan has to be pressed on the center hub (using some type of tool for alignment) Also looks like the center hub itself is pressed onto motor shaft and would/may need a puller to remove it. I wouldn't fuck with it. I vote for return.

This is one of the reasons I buy locally so when something is wrong it's easy to take back. Good luck

Most of my kit is locally bought.

Or from a reputable online shop with a no hassle returns policy.

I vote for send it back!!!

Fans should be second on your list of priorities after choosing lighting.

All I have to say is wow, got anothe vid incoming but for the meantime, they offered the warantee thing but I refused, I do not want another one of these things, I got it in pieces after I ordered the 8inch can fan. Looks like 1 plastic tab holds this thing onto the motor hub and wouldnt you know, those little chinese hands that put it together must have jammed too much wire underneath it and that tab is completely cracked on the underside. It just does not make sense how you could assemble something like this with basically NOTHING holding it together. CAP is all what I have heard about, tits on a bull (useless). I stand by digilux as the bulbs kick ass but anything mechanical is a joke. I definitely got my monies worth exposing their junk. Definitely not rubbed the wrong way as I knew better but went against my better judgement for 30 buck, wtf. I got the real deal coming anyway and just thought others would like a peak at whats going on inside brand new items from them

Jondamon,

This is actually a third complete set up I was putting together to put up in a friends basement thats really why I skimped on the fan, I have my setup running now.

I was going to do a 2k setup for him and have everything minus fan and filter (well filter now). Glad I did open the box today as it was going to go in the basement with everything else til i needed it.

I have one grow shop in distance and they fleece the shit out of you. Online prices are best by far, warrantys are still intact with an online purchase, just consumes a lot more time if something goes bad. Good thing I didnt need this immediately.
