Lockdowns work.

Sweden seems to be well on its way to herd immunity and it will get easier as more of them die ...... great job Sweden, Trumpy loves your effort.
Guess we'll see how it works out for them next election. What happened to the 20-25% Stockholm figures that were mentioned in the media before? And predictions of herd immunity by the summer? The cooperative and sensible action by the majority of the people have keep it from becoming a catastrophe.

Americans aren't like Swedes and and cell phone data show they are moving in mass numbers from lock down states and driving to open states with increasing infection rates for weekends of recreation and haircuts, models are predicting trouble in the south with in a month.

Masks work to slow the spread and if ya wanna re open, you'll need them
Here is a video by Dr. John Campbell a retired noted expert in public health and author of texts, he explains the clever mask experiment posted below.
Scientific evidence for mask wearing

HKU hamster research shows masks effective in preventing Covid-19 transmission

Tests on hamsters showed wearing surgical masks can significantly reduce the non-contact transmission of the deadly Covid-19 virus, especially when masks were worn by infected individuals, according to a study led by HKU infectious disease expert Prof Yuen Kwok-yung.

The study, released on Sunday, shed light on an ongoing heated debate on whether wearing masks would help prevent the transmission of the deadly coronavirus.

In each set of the experiment, hamsters were separated in two groups and placed in two cages, with one of the groups infected with Covid-19.

In the first experiment, no surgical masks were placed between the two cages. In the second one, a surgical mask was placed closer to the healthy hamsters. In the third experiment, the mask was placed closer to the infected, as if the healthy ones or the infected were wearing masks.

With no partition in between the cages, two-thirds of the healthy hamsters were infected a week later. In the following two experiments with masks in between, the infection rates were lowered to one-third and one-sixth respectively.

Yuen urged the public to keep wearing masks with crowds in the public and in enclosed indoor areas despite the hot weather to help contain the invisible transmission.

Gee I hope the little guy made it, some folks are driven by love I guess and some are just cold hearted bastards, self centered and callus. You saw a joke to be made, I saw compassion and one of the things that gives me faith in people, lack of empathy is not your strong point Rob, it is your weakness.

If you were compassionate you would not be in favor of using systems based in coercion. If you were driven by love, you would disavow "authority".

Logic and consistency are not your strong points, DIY

Societies make the rules Rob and people abide, or they don't become part of the society, we are instinctively organised hierarchically. Miscreants are ejected from polite society all the time, that is what has happened to you here and in your real life. Yer really just a resentful social reject.

I just checked and, yep, lockdowns work.

New York's daily death toll falls below 100 for first time since March New York's daily coronavirus death toll fell below 100 for the first time in almost two months in an encouraging sign the pandemic continues to ease in the US's hardest-hit state.

At its worst, the daily rate was in the range of 700 to 800 in the lead-up to Easter. On Friday, the overall death toll in the state was 23,195, as per Covid Tracking Project data, or just over one-quarter of total deaths in the US since the pandemic began. In a sign of continued progress around the state, Mr Cuomo said the mid-Hudson region of New York was set to reopen on Tuesday, while Long Island could "possibly" open by Wednesday.

What's the matter, Roy?

Got bitched at for stumbling about a convenience store again and so you had to come here to decry "coercion and tyranny"?

What did she say? "this is the LAST time"? Lulz That implies you were there earlier and pulled the same dumb stunt. It also implies she knows and doesn't like you. Nobody likes you here either.

Because "tyranny", I suppose. It can't be because you actually are so very dislike-able.

Please don’t speak for me, I actually like Bob. Though I will admit I haven’t known him long.
Once you get to know him you won't like him, there are credible accusations that he is a child molester and has been convicted as such. Ask him if it is right for man to have sex with a 12 year old and listen to the rationalizations pour out. He is largely shunned for a reason. Question him closely on this, others may chim in.

Oh. Like I said, I haven’t known him long. I’ll have to do some research I guess.
