Those are male pollen sacs and they don't just pop up overnight. They were there yesterday.

Dang! And just like that it’s done? What happened to me thinking it was a female by the “pointy” part sticking out from the nodes as it grows?
Don't feel bad the males are much nicer looking than the females (at first). Back in 1996 I chopped my females and raised two extremely handsome males ha! Thankfully there's RIU to assist you with not making that mistake.

You could collect any pollen from those “seeds” (they’re not seeds lol) and use it to pollenate an actual female if you so wished but you can’t grow that plant above for any buds as they will not grow you will only get more and more of those balls and pollen.
