Low stress training question

Hi guys. A couple of questions about LST:
1. Is it too late to start LST when the plant is already in flowering? Any downsides to this?
2. What if you have a CFL light bulbs set-up and you have light bulbs in each side of the plant and above it? Do you still need to LST or rather will you still get a big advantage from it? As if I understand it right, the advantage of LST is that light can reach parts of the plant where it would not regularly. But if the light comes from multiple angles it reaches a higher percentage of the plant so is that not similar to LST?

The plant will only benefit from LST while the plant is still growing and stretching.

If your plant has already finished stretching in flower it's not going to benefit from any training.

She's just in the beginning of flowering so she will stretch more, but was wondering if it's worth the trouble. I am a bit reluctant for fear of snapping it or something.

its not going to benafit from any low stress training, its flowering as has allready been stated,
you can bend some leaves around bud sites to allow the light to get to the bud sites that would be shaded

You can do whatever you want with the plant in sense of LST whole her time she grows. When she is stretching you can LST without worries. Thats actually time you have to LST the most if you want flat canopy. In flower it has no point on LST since plants are not growing anymore and it can cause stress as well. In stretch phase the stems are losing their softness, so LST gently or combine with supercropping to avoid breaking branches…

I support what Bukvicak says - the start of stretch is a great time to do some lst, as the plant is most pliable at this stage. Always worth the effort in my opinion.

LST is about breaking apical domination. Meaning getting the main cola lower than the others so all colas receiving light can grow at the same rate to form a even canopy.

There is nothing wrong with spreading the branches a bit in flower to allow more light to make it to the buds. However that is not low stress training. That is simply spacing the branches.

Hi Johnny Casshh,
If the plant is un topped and/or not shaped, dont stress about it now. Just finish her up and start the next run topping and using LST sooner. Good luck

Thanks for the advice, I will try to do some spacing to allow more light within the branches
