Making feminized seeds

I've been reading and watching vids on how to use colldial silver, but I'm not understanding a few things.
If I do a few branches on one plant, can it pollinate the rest and make viable seeds?
After collecting pollen, how far into flower before pollinating another plant?
If I use a photo for pollen and pollinate an auto, what do I have?

I used colloidal silver once to make fem pollen. It didn’t go as planned. I don’t remember the timing of the fem pollen when using CS. The buds are most receptive 21-28 days into flower. So if the fem pollen isn’t viable until after that time frame, I’m not sure about the success rate of pollination. Never tried any fem pollen on an auto. That sounds interesting!!
I use the STS method and it works like a charm.

Yes, but if you're running both pollen and then seeds with the same plant, you typically have to let the plant develop for a longer flower period than normal. I've personally never done both steps with a single plant, I've always made pollen, then pollinated a separate female.

After collecting pollen, how far into flower before pollinating another plant?
I pollinate somewhere between week three and five of flower. Closer to the former mostly.

If I use a photo for pollen and pollinate an auto, what do I have?
I can't answer that one. I've never grown an auto plant.

Thanks for the replies for sure.
So I have just started a purple haze auto, I was hoping to make pollen and seeds off of it, if I lose the bud it'd be ok if I was able to get good seeds off of her.
I have a few northern lights clones, which I planned on using one for pollen and then pollinate a branch or 2 off of various other types, that sound logical?

If you breed a Photo (PP) to an Auto (pp)..you will create offspring that are all Heterozygous..having both the Photo and the Auto genes..ie..(Pp) (Notice upper case vs lower case..dominant vs recessive genes)

..Autoflowering gene is recessive..so when you plant these seeds...all phenotypes (physical traits) will act Cheermore typically as a photo period..some claim even a faster flower...
If you carry your breeding 1 more generation (breeding 2 siblings together) you should have approximately 25% pure photo period plants (PP), 50% of these so called fast flowering...(Pp) and 25% pure Autoflower (pp) over a larger sample size..the recessive auto-flower gene will not reveal itself on the first generation

Mr toad, I thank you very much. That's what I was wondering.
Thats very acceptable to me, as I don't mind putting in work for a reliable outcome. I just have limited knowledge, which is never close to wisdom IMO. I've smoked for decades, but I gotta admit, a lot of new stuff trashes my mind and it's not fun beings I have severe anxiety, so I want to dial in a strain for "ME".
Loving the blue dream cbd from Humboldt, but want a few strains with mild differences so I can alternate.
Thankful for you folks that take the time to help another wandering soul

No worries..when breeding out your plants...just make sure the next round of crosses you make with the offspring are Autoflower to Autoflower to maintain the auto gene..

Can someone pls explain to me how exactly do you make seeds, I would love to cross a hashplant with an auto for outdoors here in Canada. I have a 5x5 tent now so I can finally do what I want, Pls explain quite thoroughly if you do on how exactly you do would go about doing it, I want feminized seeds. In shortest time, and also wondering how many seeds u would off one run

Or even if it’s any easier, the best or a good way how to cross pollinate two photo strains, I’d cross a male early ... with a female hashplant or vice versa, would love to cross a fast version northern lights with a hashplant. I’m trying to produce the best strain for outdoors in a Canadian climate where it’s nice to harvest by middle of September to the 20th by latest

The gist of making feminized cannabis seeds:

- Make or buy some 30ppm+ Colloidal Silver
- Veg a candidate female
- Put said female into flower
- Immediately start spraying the CS on all potential bud sites on the female, at least once per day (you can do individual branches if you want)
- Keep spraying for about 3-4 weeks, and stop once the pollen sacks start to form
- Move the plant to a separate flowering area to eliminate cross-pollination risks of other flowering female plants
- Collect the pollen, mix it in a 2/3 baking flour to 1/3 pollen ratio
- Store the pollen in a cool, dark area

- Take a female plant that's been flowering for about three weeks
- Using a small artist's paintbrush, brush the pollen mixture onto all of the budsites you want to produce seeds
- Flower the plant as normal
- Collect seeds

Do NOT smoke or otherwise use any of the branches that you've sprayed with CS. Throw it away.

I use a dedicated cabinet for my pollen plants (both male and female), and a separate flowering tent for pollinated plants and other experiments.

In general, how does one know which genes are recessive or dominant. Is this typically via experience or is there some baselines that define this dominance
Trial and error..and lots of observation through breeding and watching outcomes. Gregor Mendel pea projects
Fortunately, growers having bred Cannabis for years have already established that for us

I have 4 plants about 2-3 weeks from finishing, think it's safe to start spraying a new girl I just put in the tent? Will it take more than 3 weeks to form pollen sacks ?

You will definitely be safe. It typically takes three weeks for the sacks to begin forming, and a couple to a few more before they begin to start opening.

Perfect. I have a northern lights clone that I will do half of to cross back to another clone of the same, and will pollinate a money maker as soon as she large enough to take clones from

So dinafems quick seeds are like half made autos @MrToad69 ? I have quick gorilla and heard good things... Does this as a breeder make it any less stable? Or would they be able to stabilise it at fast flowering?

Some companies claim their fast versions actually have no Autoflower in them...Stitch for example.

However, many others do in fact use Autoflower to enhance the finish of their plants..Essentially, assuming that Photo/Auto have some element of "codominance" (a blend)..up for debate...

That said, if companies are using Photos bwith Autos to create fast versions...they will not be stable..as you essentially have heterozygous alleles...Pp..

You breed them..your approximate breakdown..25% photo, 50% fast version, and 25% Auto seeds
