No doubt,I didn't think it was possible for a human being to have such a utter lack of humility that he would elevate himself over a country of 360+ million people knowing the ruination to institutions and the hostility he has gleefully fostered among Americans all to save himself at 70+ yo,mindboggling that a human being could demonstrate such self centeredness knowing the damage being done,a truly vile individual, who with more intelligence could be the antichrist.

Thanks, just popped back in briefly, won't really be back until Dec. when I get laid off, works crazy, boss,a mellow well liked guy passed on 1 week prior to the season from a minor operation, subsequently the members brought in a dude who clashed w/everybody,gone in less than a month,a nationwide search by members brought me a 31 yo who has the knowledge but doesn't have the life experience to deal w/40,50,60 yo people, even fkd up payroll, feel like I'm on a surfboard as he has turned a schedule of 20+yrs upside down.Sorry, back to the point I've never felt such a acrimonious divide in our country,I used to be pretty apolitical and am pretty much a pragmatic centrist Dem. pushed a little more left by such a gutless, vile, rogues gallery of a Rep' party that I often disagreed with but never held in the utter contempt that I know do,from 2016 on I still have to pinch myself that all this is really going down.
I've always been unsettled by the rhetoric used by the Republican Party. Reagan's portrayal of poor people as "welfare queens", the characterization of Muslims as terrorists after 9/11, their endorsement of DEA agents raiding homes during the hey day of the War on Drugs because "they are druggies and addicts". I saw their scapegoating and propaganda for what it was. But you know what? I never thought Conservative Republicans would try to overthrow our government and institute a dictatorship. I saw the conflict between those holding old beliefs rooted in white power and those demanding change from a growing post-millennial diverse society as a peaceful though rancorous generational shift. With each peaceful transfer of power, one step forward (Clinton), half step back (Bush jr), two steps forward (Obama), one step back (Trump), I thought we were making progress. Progress in a typical US way -- in fits and starts.

But not now. This is different. I sum my feelings toward MAGA Republican fascism this way:

I miss the days when Republicans thought terrorism was a bad thing.

I think Biden nailed the danger we are in in his speech in Philly on Sept 1. He opened the way for conservative Republicans to join Democrats in opposition of MAGA Republican/Trumpism. Biden recognized Conservative Republicans as potential allies and asked for their help. To everybody listening, Biden stated outright the danger MAGA Republicans pose to our democracy. He didn't even ask for much from true Americans. He just asks for our vote.

I've always been political. During my days as a young adult, most around me were apolitical. I was OK with that. If a person can't take the time to understand the issues, I didn't want them voting. But now is different. What happened on Jan 6, '20 was an attempt at disenfranchising the majority of voters in this country. What happened on June 22, '22 -- when the Supreme Court took away a woman's right to decide her future -- was more than just an attack on abortion, it was a message that everybody's civil rights are in MAGA Republican crosshairs. One doesn't have to be political to know that Biden needs our vote. It's not political to want this country's democracy to survive.

In fact, he pulled the punch by saying semi-fascist. Statesmanship 101: leave even a blatantly wrong opponent a path to saving some “face”.

So does Mcdonald's deliver food to jail?
I'm starting to smell pork fat frying, but he will probably be able to swap money for time.
I imagine one thing we will soon learn is that he has no money, just a mountain of debt, especially once his ongoing swindles disguised as political fundraisers are choked off.

The New York lawsuit landed a torpedo amidships and below the waterline into his money-gathering network.

Getting loans will be an issue, he will go bankrupt before he hits his cell most likely or shortly after for sure. However, he could have set up a trust fund that can't be touched and he has his government pension, that should be cut off, if he is convicted of insurrection.

Special master asks Trump team to back up claim FBI planted evidence
The special master assigned to review the documents taken during the August search of Mar-a-Lago is asking former President Trump to back up his claim that the FBI planted evidence on his Florida property.

Judge Raymond Dearie, the special master selected after being out forth by Trump, told his attorneys they would need to submit a sworn declaration that details “a list of any specific items set forth in the [FBI’s] detailed property inventory that plaintiff asserts were not seized from the premises.”

Trump made the insinuation just two days after his home was searched.

“Everyone was asked to leave the premises, they wanted to be alone,” he wrote in a post on his social media platform, “without any witnesses to see what they were doing, taking or, hopefully not, ‘planting.’”

Trump asserted as recently as Wednesday evening during an interview with Fox News’s Sean Hannity that the FBI may have planted evidence during the search.

“The problem that you have is they go into rooms — they won’t let anybody near — they wouldn’t even let them in the same building. Did they drop anything on those piles? Or did they do it later?” he said.

Neither Trump nor his attorneys have supplied any evidence to back such claims.

The plan from Dearie also asked for the attorneys to list a “description of contents or location within the premises where the item was found is incorrect” as well as to break down any property they say was taken during the search but not listed among the FBI’s inventory.

The request marks the second time Dearie has asked the Trump legal team to back its claims.
A Monday filing from Trump’s team indicated Dearie had asked the former president’s lawyers to explain whether he had in fact ever declassified the intelligence records in his home.

Earlier legal filings from Trump insinuated he may have done so but stopped short of fully making the claim.

Dearie expressed frustration during a Tuesday conference with both Trump’s team and the Justice Department.
Trump attorney James Trusty told Dearie that they were “not in the position” to explain the claim, as they would only do so in a motion to recover property if criminal charges are brought.

“Well, you did bring the lawsuit and make that claim,” Dearie responded, adding later, “You can’t have your cake and eat it.”

"Who picked this Rino judge anyway?"

I doubt it. He has never shown fiscal prudence, and his psychopathy is such that putting something aside for a rainy day offends his self-image of the eternal sunshine of awesome.

So many shell companies? Bernie Madoff pales in comparison and you know the Trumps are true grifter gypsies because none of them will feel shame and suicide themselves like both of Madoff's sons did.

He's outlived his usefulness and DOJ got back the Top Secret docs, so Donald may wish to stay away from windows on high floors.

i don't think he has any money to swap. the money his pac has will probably be seized before he can contemplate trading it for time...and really, do you think he would be able to cough it up, even for his freedom? if you take every old sterotypical joke about cheap as fuck scots, and change the scot to trump...they're not even jokes anymore, but accurate descriptions. he hasn't paid a bill willingly in his entire life, anything he has ever given to charity, he claimed ten times on his taxes. i think he'd rather get hung and buried with his money than live poor.

I hope yer right about the trust fund, he should have been shoveling cash into it. I figure if he is convicted of insurrection his government pension will be cut, if the democrats win in November. If they don't, McCarthy will be going to the big house on visiting days for instructions on how to run the house and Donald will shut the government down from his cell until Joe commutes his sentence. Reality is becoming weirder than we can imagine (it always was) and ya can't make this shit up, though I do try!

i don't know about that...his father "gifted" all of his kids tons of money, in ways designed to get around paying any kind of taxes on it...he gave all of them millions, mostly in cash and real estate leases. i think trump is too greedy to do that, but he may have been quietly funneling at least part of his "empire" into the same kind of "gifts" for his kids. if so, and it's not in a very protected form, it should all be seized, and used to pay all the construction contractors, painters, laborers, lawyers...that trump has stiffed over a lifetime of being a cheap cocksucker

They can cut your pension due to criminal activity..it's like your houses and cars that get seized because the gain was due to crime.

The counterdatum is that he has bankrupted every business venture he was in. He was on his way to wrecking the national economy.

His lizard brain has always been in charge of his wallet.

Don't count on it. Tiffany had to ask permission for a credit card. Trump and Ivanka gave Mary L. Trump a pack of underwear for Christmas one year..someone else received what looked like a table centerpiece 80s style..'glittery shoe stuffed with candy and wrapped in cellophane then re-gifted.
