This will be interesting, all the republican candidates for the GOP nomination will be asked if they support Trump when they bust him for the docs and obstruction, and if they would pardon him! It will be the same for all the congressional candidates too, Donald will demand their support, assuming he isn't locked up upon indictment. Gym Jordan will be going nuts trying to get inside information for Trump and obstructing justice. As James Comey just mentioned, he could be wearing an ankle bracket during the primaries and probably showing it off at rallies to drum up more cash from the suckers.

I can see the GOP being in one Helluva pickle over Trump's coming indictment since he still has a huge amount of support among their racist and fascist base. Every time he gets indicted his support grows among the republican base FFS, and not to give him their full-throated support as he goes down in flames, would be primary suicide and to do so would mean losing the general election in most places. Add to that their policies on abortion and guns, then you might see useful democratic majorities in 24 along with a second term for Joe. If Joe has a democratic congress at his back in 24, I expect some rapid economic, social and legislative progress that will include the resolution of a number of problems and issues.

The democrats need a big enough win to make effective changes and reduce the GOPs built in advantages on a couple of fronts and Donald might just give it to them in 24. The shit is really about to hit the fan for the republicans when Donald goes down over the MAL docs and obstruction, I'm hoping for an ankle bracelet, SS custody and a trial during the primaries or before. I hope he is free to keep running off at the mouth to the media for another year.

Mar A logo will take Trump down too early! Don't jail him FFS he still has work to do destroying the GOP and ruining their chances at winning congress too! He needs to be out of jail raging against the RINOs who betrayed him and "sold out" to the "deep state"! Divide and conquer and Donald is a divider! The republicans are hoping Jack will do the dirty work for them and remove Trump from contention. Even if he is indicted and still running around loose, he will still screw them over even if he loses the republican nomination and runs as an independent in the election from a cell. Donald is gonna be one Helluva wild card for the GOP in the coming months and the republicans dare not say "Lock him up" for fear of pissing off his base. Even if he is convicted and doing time, millions will write him in on their ballots and millions more might just stay home if he isn't on the ballot and says the republicans betrayed him.

you know, when i was saying months ago that trump remaining free until the general election would be a good thing, and divide the party, i was right, but it was never an actual plan....you do get that, right? it was just a best case scenario, not a schedule for the destruction of the republican party...
The DOJ will clearly do whatever it's going to do, whenever they get around to doing it. If it's before the election, then it's before the election. If it's after, then it's after....if it's after trump is dead of old age, and his children are turning grey, and all the magats in the house and the senate have retired or died, then that's when it will be....
Insinuating that the DOJ is scheduling their legal proceedings for political purposes is insulting to the DOJ, and feeds the magat's claims of weaponization of the justice system.

I stated my hope that he would be able to mouth off for a year and fuck over the GOP which I believe he will, make what you will of the timing that was largely up to Garland since the spring of 21 and up to Jack just after the election 7 months ago. I dunno if the GOP field will be suddenly cleared or not, but Trump's base will have to be reckoned with as he goes down in flames and he will demand their support and the nominees will be asked about pardoning him...

I agree with you on the first part, it happens when it happens. I didn't get the insinuation that DOJ scheduling around political purposes, and there is no scenario where magat's will believe the justice system is being fair to their dear leader. The bigger fear is MG decides to not bring charges because of political purposes or to avoid the appearance of it being political.

Garland has a lot of discretion as AG and could give Trump a pass on a lot of shit and probably will, busting him for all the crimes he committed as POTUS would take several lifetimes. Garland dealt with the J6 useful idiots and traitors while congress dealt with the higher up, as best that they could. Garland went from the bottom up, while they went down from the top and issued a report before the election. The republican red wave was blunted by the abortion issue and the fact that Trump fucked up the house and senate for them with his candidates, remember Herchel and Dr Oz?

After the election Garland appointed Jack and he got right down to business and now has Trump by the balls and gone for life a mere 7 months after getting the job with a broken leg in Europe. That's just for the documents and obstruction of justice, J6 is coming later and with the kingpin gone early they will be left holding the bag and dealing away whatever politician they can. If they indict him for espionage and Jack opposes his release it will get really interesting, more so if he doesn't!

If that were so, would he have pointed Smith at the target? I’m still confident that political calculation is not guiding the pace … rather the knowledge that DOJ has one shot, and needs to make sure it hits.

Then Jack is gonna have Trump chained to mouth of the cannon when he takes the shot with the MAL documents and obstruction cases. He might not be alone, Boris the wormtongue and others might be with him.

I hope you are right, but my gut says he doesn't end up in prison and instead is offered a deal or granted a pardon à la Nixon.

Nope, Joe won't pardon him, and the justice system will deal with him like any other criminal, he is looking at a federal life sentence for the MAL docs and obstruction, plus the same for both NY and Georgia. Then there is J6 and wire and mail fraud for the stop the steal grift another lifer considering the amounts of cash involved.

Democrats would freak out on Biden FFS.

Donald is gonna have one Helluva summer and be lucky to keep his ass out of jail until trial if he is hit with espionage too.

I think he came out of retirement to risk prison. Trump needs attorneys with nothing to lose. His $3.8 B lawsuit was filed by a Tampa workers comp atty and another atty that was just sanctioned for filing Nunes' frivolous defamation lawsuit. It looks like sanction time again.

Why on earth anyone would do business with Trump is beyond me.
Consider the slot machine….
