Mars Hydro FC or FC-E ?

This is the thing, they don't really answer these kinda queries. It's why, even though the mars bar lights look at least decent on paper, with really good diode counts, I have a hard time supporting them. They seem to care less about their customers (current and future) than they care of the appearance of caring about customers.

That other light: not easy to evaluate, can't find diode count or specific details on diodes, only Lumiled and osram. No details on driver but seems like not meanwell. Maybe inventronics which have a rep for being maybe a bit more reliable than meanwell when it comes to higher wattage.
465w seems like a weird and not common model.
5 y warranty: check what's covered and what's not. Can you buy it from your own country? What is service like, get a new bar and fit it yourself or sending it back for repair?

Spectrum looks like 5000k + loads of red, instead of 4000k and medium red. Haven't seen enough favour one or the other.
If it's Lumiled, could they be a rebrand of those lumatech lights that use lumileds?
Shane at migro says they're the US brand for Lumatek and they appear to be identical. The Photontek/Lumatek driver appears to be proprietary. A nice feature is an accessory extension cable for remote driver mounting.

Perhaps @Lordhooha will comment, he's testing the Photontek xt1000 co2.

FWIW, reviews from Shane at migro.com

I knew I was forgetting something when I posted. Yes, but from the text it's a bit unclear: it gives you btus with remote drivers but also says void warranty with modifications. But you confirmed it, remote driver seems to be ok to mod.

Ya the fc is noticeably higher k than most other

i don’t know if it helps but I looked at them, and noticed the regular FC 4800 has more output at same wattage, but does not have removable light bars. It does fold I think.

The FC-E 4800 has removable light bars, but lower output. They both seem to use the same mix of diodes, I think it’s neat they include some UV diodes in both.
The FC-E is about a hundred and fifty dollars less expensive. Making it a better value.

Sign up under every word mate. This Mars Hydro is very kind on replying when it comes before sales. After sales they just ignore you. I'm being at paypal dispute with this crowd over their FCE-3000 about 3 wks now, quit sad

The FCE series looks lighter but after looking at the specs, it's not that much lighter than the FC series, and the FC are more intense. Plus, I like the folding feature. I have this wacky idea to use two, folded, so that they're top- and side-lighting.

I can personally attest to how good the se 3000 is... samsung diodes.. Maxwell driver... zero heat issues.. right now I have it at 14 inches from the tops of my plant.... no burnage....super frosty... perfect for 3x3.. 4x4 needs se5000....and right now it's on sale 319 (se3000). on sf website.. didn't check Amazon.. but I'm telling you.... between how nicely is dispenses the heat and light evenly...and you can mount the driver separate from the light. Plenty of coord....idk. I can't say enough good about it.. check it out. Mine pulls 305 watts from the wall stock.. and if you do get it.. I can show you a quick trick to make it 330-340watts..with just a screw driver.

My bad didn't see the Mars hydro rep here.. used one of their smaller lights before I bought the sf....also excellent quality....never tried thier bar style setups.. I'm sure they're quality....but I have had much better results with the bar styles... so much less to worry about.

This Mars Hydro is a bunch of crooks. Bought FC-E300 from them, received from Germany (I'm in the EU) item was faulty, all my emais to accept return for my own (!!) cost ignored. I got tired to fight, opened paypal dispute. Now as a return address they offer me to return it to China(!!!), cheeky b*astards.

In the eu region you have consumer protections, get informed. I don't think it's legal in any sense. @MarsHydrofactory is this standard operations for your company???? That's shamefully bad.

I dont think so mate. Their EU website has no even physical office address in the EU and they simply send stuff from some warehouse (private address, who knows?) to obviously avoid taxation. The worst, Paypal seems to be on their side, since all paypal payments go to China ((. Feels like I've been fooled for my own money, no working unit, no money (((
