So I have the Mars Hydro Sp250. Liked it so much I bought the sp150. I haven‘t received it yet but I’m realizing
i would like the option to increase or dim especially in the smaller tent. I also would like to keep the temps under wraps and at the same time be able to relocate the driver outside such a small cab. 2x2
so I’ve picked up a meanwell hlg-150H 48A. Any chance mars will send me out the relocation kit? Also would this be the more expensive option if mars chose to outfit the sp150 with the Meanwell adjustable driver? Didn’t the sp150 have the same adjustable driver as the ts and tsl models? (Besides the 3000) I saw most recently the sp150 now has a fixed wattage of 135w. Thanks Mars, the lights look great. I thought the SP150 unit would be better with the meanwell though. The SP250 rocks so far.

I think it has that universal 54v 150w driver with the plug.

I’d like to know for sure before I do replace it. I’d like the adjust feature. I figured this be the right choice since the 250 has the 48A. Sp 250 elg 48A .. sp150 HLG 150 48A. ? The one for the qb288 boards. It seems Mars newer units have a fixed wattage driver vs the ones I saw reviewed had the adjust on the io. and v. Lots to learn on adaptations but I did see a great 2 part on the tube about various hlg drivers...02

I'm almost sure they're not using HLG model drivers. They're much more pricey. You'll know in a while though when you receive it right? I think it's the Chinese local driver they use 2 of on the tsw/tsl2000. It's a 54V driver but it very well could be 48v or something entirely different like an XLG.

I know they aren’t on that unit itself. The sp250 is using the ELG240 48A. The sp150 has changed it seems from the cheapo Chinese adjustable drivers to a Mars Sticker covered non adjustable. I am potentially going to swap with the HLG150 48. Just wanted to t3ch a bit and wanted to make Dead on that this driver will be a healthier option for the sp150. A beefier SP150. Plus like I said I would like Mars to be good sports and send me out a relocation kit seeing I just spent close to 500 on their linear line.

Well when you get it you'll be able to read the drivers info and see what voltage it is or MA if it happens to be constant current..then you can buy the according driver.

Or use a DVOM to see what the drive voltage is on the fixture and make a decision from that.

Well. It’s called the sp150. The sp250 with its adjustable driver io can vary from about 97w to 299w on the spartan Power. mars states new driver set 135w on the mars generic.. and then here is the spec sheet for the HLG 150 48 driver. I think it should work and while it may look like I am a doctor I am just learning. Love the led style solutions these days. Trying to beef up the sp150 so I can reduce heat by relocating the driver itself and giving it a better driver, plus adjust. If not I’ll save it for an osram build I’m thinking.

I mean you have it on the way, so why even bother trying to figure it out if you can't be sure just wait til it comes and read the driver it comes with and go from there
