Still to early to put them out up here, generally Memorial day is they guidline to start outdoors-thats our Avg.last frost date. Watch the weather, still getting down to lower 30's at night. Your best bet is to kerp them inside under a light till mid may at least. Our season sucks only get 2 solid months of veg. I have a bagseed thats about 1 month old under fluros Im experimenting with topping /suppercropping/lst and Im waiting on some quality seeds to arrive to get them started too.

I think the trick with doing autos outside is timing. I think mid May to Mid July is the best time since the days are longer. I did some last year late in the season and the yield was sort of small. Along with a few other minor issues, I think the shorter August days had a lot to do with it.

Don't put your plants outside until at earliest May 1. WeedFreak is correct, planting outside on Memorial Day will ensure they won't freeze, but you can cheat by a few weeks if you look at the 10 day forecast.

I put out beginning of May last year and had a freeze that almost killed them. Fortunately sun came out and they recovered nicely. They can handle a night of freezing, but I wouldn't chance 2 or more nights.

Should be fine in your greenhouse even on a really cold night.

Agreed. Even though I'm sure we are all very eager, waiting the extra week or two plays it safe and won't effect yield all that much. Last year I put my first set of plants out 2nd week of May and another set out about 3 weeks later. In the end, they were all about the same size.

If you want bigger plants, veg your seedlings/clones indoors under MH or whatever veg lighting you use. No one says you can't veg indoors a month or two then put outside when the weather is more favorable. They won't start flowering until late July or early August, so they can get quite large with that amount of veg.

Oh man, it's sooo hard to wait. I am gonna try Barney's LSD outside this year, they are supposed to
finish end of Sept. but it's more of a Sativa pheno so I assume it will be later than that. HOW 'BOUT A GO BRUINS!!!!!!! Probly another year of dissapointment though...:wall:

hey green monstah, first off go redsox! anyways, what i do with autoflowering plants is 24/0 or 18/6 the more light, the more the plant is going to grow keep the autoflowering inside is my advice. And i do live in New England and the weather here is a pain in the ASS. I would encourage you to grow your plants inside and let them get close to a foot tall before you even put them outside. I also wouldn't recommend putting them outside until at least May 1 because as you know in New England we can get those crazy cold nights and if it gets cold enough the plants can die. Good Luck with the grow

You ever grow LSD before? I'm waiting on seeds to show up-any day now(fingers crossed). Im also up this way and am getting anxious. Last weeks warmer weather had me in good spirits, now were getting 1-3" of snow tonight, makes me want to punch mother nature in the baby maker.good things come to those who wait.... right?

Hey everyone let me just say thanks first of all for all the replies! I haven't ben on in a while I've been busy scouting out a lot of potential guerilla grow spots near some woods near my house and getting ready for the season =] all the seedlings are now a healthy inch average some growing more vigerously then others lik the greenhouse inc Church and the Moby Dick forget what comp. But they're taking off. They've been getting a mixture of sun and tw fluro tubes I got.. I got one of those tents from htg too with a 400w hps in there at the moment vegging out a ak47 plant that was quite the disaster. But that's besides the point lol, so I got these autoflowers, 5 diesel ryders, 3 big bud, and 5 ak47xblueberry, my next question I guess is you think id be better off with just stickin with the autos indoor and the photoperiod plnts outdoor?

---btw me and my buddy ordered another bundle of seeds today 2 10 packs of barneys red dragon which I've never heard of and a 10 pack of sensi seedbig bud feminized and were splitting all 50\50 cost me 180.00 not too bad

Good looks for the info that's prolly the route I'm gonna go just think the autoflowers would do a lot better under more light. What. Kind of autos do you grow?

I grew Seedsman's white widow successfully outdoors up here. Came out really well and beat the frost. Finished around first week of October. Anything over a 9-10 week strain and your pushing it. It's always nice to hear story's of planting for the coming grow season ;)

I'm sayin, how late into the season does the widow usually grow into for you? The red dragon had a med. Flower time as well as height so that was good to hear cosidering most of em will be guerilla grown

It was done around first week of October. It's supposed to be 60/40 Sativa Indica but is probabaly more Sativa than that. If your Red Diesel keeps under 11 weeks you should be ok.
