Hello Guys,

I'm happy to find this great thread and as noobe with DIY I'd like to ask how to wire up two HLG 185h with a single PC power cord and what components should I order?

Congratulations! That’s what it’s really all about.

A bit of unsolicited advice, being as your sleep schedule is now dictated by your daughter, at every opportunity take a nap with her on your chest. There’s something very special about looking down at your baby sleeping on your chest.

Because that window won’t last too long (check out song). Thanks for sharing.

. Higher temp and co2 increase transpiration. That's why it speed up metabolism.
actually no not really.

ALL biological systems both plan and animal exhibit a "higher metabolism" at higher temperatures within their normal temperature ranges. That's just the nature of biochemical process's.

For a high rate of photosynthesis and metabolism its important to keep the stomatas open for gas exchange. The whole theory of an optimal VPD is based on keeping the stomatas open.

While the rate of Transpiration is associated with a higher metabolism and a minimum transpiration is required, a super high transpiration rate is not required for a high metabolism. Most critical plant nutrients (fertilizers) are absorbed by the plant actively.

You wire them together.... simple.
Just simply cut off the end of the computer power cord, than solder the longer part with the drivers? What protection could I use between the three solders other than tape? I'm afraid it will explode when I give power, I also would like it to look good...

I just had my light fired up for a few hours for the first time. Went and checked on the meanwell hlg's and they were pretty hot to tge touch, definitely made me pull my hand back away. I've turned it off for the night, but I'm wondering if this is normal?
Thanks!

so why aren't the professionals here in denver running 99% Rh then?

i mean, it's science.
Cause there not professional ?? Just think its only been 2 years, since they turned a legal state but there professionals now Right, and the best of the best ,
And you got it pegged Its science right ?? well what might be a science in Maine new England, might not be the same science in Colorado
So so much for science now ,, And hey growing weed is a real science i mean hey you want what what does the science books say 60 RH lol in veg and once in flower what 40 ???

And now ask your self when you walk into that nice botanic garden picking out maybe hanging plants or that god dam nice looking exotic plant ,, than ask your self why on gods earth a month later it looks pathetic i know why , Cause your science failed you , there is a reason when you walk into a green house and everything is growing like mad and just beautiful but when you walked in you almost fainted cause of RH and heat etc

Now for out beloved plants which most likely came from there northern brothers and there southern sisters making a Hybrid ,, A person should study the regions where both parents came from for instance one of my strains south african where the average all year is 60 an believe it or not yup where most of the indi's come from average RH is 70's well atleast for 7 months
i also check out other shit like winds etc this tells me if i need to have my girls litterally blowing over

It shit like this all growers should look into its not ok 50 - 55 RH in veg n first day of 12 / 12 drop it to 40

I have grown enough to know these things or knowing might save you a headache when leafs are curling on you and everyone And lets not forget if there from Colorado there professionals
Any advantage / knowledge you get over the plant including temps , RH, etc wind speeds I can not say this enough will indeed help you get the best out of your strain

And yes i have run foggers in my rooms to make sure my RH is high talking and even seen it close to the mid 80' - 90's for early vegging plants

You know we here on RIU it has to be science or its no good
Look at it this way my normal operating room temps 87 - 88 degrees F one must remember for every 10 degree increase the metabolic rate in the plant more or less like mother board on your pc increases x 10

So yeah your not going to get it from them profesionals lol there but run RH 60 - 70 for veg you will see as well and keep RH up and start lowering it 3rd week into flower by 5 degree increments so you end up 45 - 50 on chop day And everything a nice gradual increase or decrease never just drop RH it be like taking your pet on a holiday to the north pole and throwing him outside -72 degrees

@ mongo not sure which picture it was was it recent pic then i got it but lost a shit load and i Burnt them all and ofcourse BLANK

@2ANONYMOUS has a great pic on what it looks like to run with the high rh and temps in an indoor room. Its a pretty awesome looking picture. Explains VPD in the picture alone i think. He'll probobly show it. Most of us just don't have the balls to cross that line, me included.
not sure which one but i clone like 2 -3" clones and run a fogger as its hard to get High RH with a room of transplanted clones at the beginning but growth is wicked i mean theses are almost 2 week veg gives anyone a idea my growth rates have easily doubles 3 - 4 week veg with higher temps and RH is like 5 - 6 week plant if grown by the science as people say 78 and 50 Rh
But again its works for me person has to play with temps and Rh to find out what works best for them i drop temps as i get late in flower lights temps drop last 2 weeks gallery_11738_4816_20547.jpg

Hey GM and others,

I have watched your led noob series on the YT. I currently have a 4x4 tent and I would like to set up an led lighting system for 6 dwc plants. My question is, can I use 6 3590 36v (alternating 3500 and 4k) per heatsink and have full coverage? I was originally going to look for cxb3070 but they are difficult to find without a minimum 100pc order. Also, how long should each heat sink be? 36 inches?

Juan,
GM has a great video on YouTube that explains heat sink size for passive and active cooling.
In fact he has a 6 part series just for noobs and they are all short and very informative.
You may have to watch them several times and take a few notes, but they are good as it gets.
He may have started his build series for noobs also.Youll learn more there than hours on the forum.
