Megacrop

Well I am using megacrop, just megacrop with no additives and i have come to realize that my yields are poor, and my buds aren't dense like when I was using the AN PH Perfect. I still have 3 jugs of PH perfect in the cupboard, so I am going to switch back and finish them. A guy hates paying for water, but if the yields from the 1 part megacrop are that much shittier than the AN, sell me some water please.... What are you guys adding to the megacrop for budding that gives back some density. There were so many people here pushing the megacrop as the shit to use, and apparently I drank the Koolaid.
Were you using it just by itself? I have customers who use it just for veg and then GH for the rest of the time. I do have about 5 customers using Plant Prod MJ minus the MJ Sipke (really expensive) and get crazy results. Couple of these guys always boasted how they get $1500-1700 all the time (good price for BC). Two weeks ago one of them bought in some sample pics. Damn that was some awesome looking weed. I know their rooms are dialed in so that would be a huge difference but they definitely walk the walk lol They do use Gavita 1000W and Phantom 1000W DE

They're still pretty expensive but have no feed back yet from anyone. I can't sell LED's worth shit. Hard for most running say 20+ lights to fork over $1800 for each LED vs $395 (in store price) for a 1000W Gavita DE even with the extra heat.

Ya I've got both DE and the LED gavita's. The led ones are pricey but superb imo. I understand why it's a hard sell. I've been trying to convert over but it's hard at that price. I think I'd go LED only if it was the Gavita's

Yes just using it by itself, after all it was being pushed as a one part, nothing else needed. I do agree it works well for veg.

Well that sucks. Now i'm thinking twice about switching over.

So now I'm thinking about maybe just using the megacrop for veg and first couple weeks of flower and then switch to Jacks for the rest of flowering. I used Jacks before with decent success but my main issue with it was that it seemed like it was lacking in nitrogen in my case. That's why I thought megacrop might of been a good replacement. Guess I'll do some playing around with mega, jacks, AN jungle juice and see how things turn out.

With so many thousands of people on weed forums I'm surprised there's no recipe that people came up with that is designed for weed. Except for Ammonum Nitrate and Potassium Nitrate there's no restrictions on any salts. You can still buy those but there are some restrictions for retailers. Guess you'd have to be carefull wth measuring and handling micros but there's lots of blends out there already mixed.

What about the Lucas formula? Has that ever been independently verified as being the required ratio for healthy cannabis? Obviously fine tuning would be needed for some pickier strains, but is this a good starting block, to your knowledge?

I've thought about if I was ever on a big enough scale I'd approach a farm-supplier that makes custom fertilizers and see if I could get 1000 lbs of ready made Lucas.

Thats my tentative plan for next run. MC thru veg/flower, then transition to the 10-30-20 formula plus Ca, finish last weeks with 5-16-26.

Rough Ratios.
Veg 9-6-16. 1.5-1-3
Bloom 10-30-20. 1-3-2
Finish 5-16-26. 1-3-5

Sucks that we have to do shit like that though but is what it is I guess.

What brand are you using for the 10-30-20? Is that Jacks as well? I've only used the 5-16-26/cal-nit so far.

Yes, Jacks product.

I've still learning nutes. Adding bloom boosters and/or lowering N, at the right times can improve a grow. Burned my share of plants. Lol

Proper feed ec and correct ph are also part of the equation.

Jacks has a simple feed schedule, uses the same mix thru entire grow. 321 80% is popular.

just out of curiosity why don't you just jump from the mega straight to the 5-16-26? Is it the lack of nitrogen?

I ran that in the past, and added MKP or Magphos to increase the P and K during early/mid bloom.

The NPK ratio, and high P are what I get with 10-30-20. No need for boosters.

Similar to what I was doing with MC, lowering the base for less N, and adding PK boosters.

Lower base = lower micronutrients with MC. I did not like that.

(My bad above, the Jacks is 5-12-26.)

Two past runs here.....learning as I go.

From reading through several sites seems 5-12-26 runs close to the max limit for K for cannabis needs and adding in MKP seems to mess things up. I have no space atm where to park my license so can't do any testing.

In the early 2000's use to sell lots of 5-50-17 (called root and bloom) 20-20-20 and 10-30-20

The program was Technigro 5-50-17 for the first week or so , 20-20-20 in veg, 10-30-20 in flower then switch back to 5-50-17 for the last couple of weeks. I don't see anyone else making 5-50-17 mix anymore. There is/was a Technigro 9-45-15 but I don't see it listed here anymore https://www.sungro.com/technigro/

Also noticed these today. FloraPro https://www.hawthornegc.com/shop/bycategory/nutrients-and-supplements Just have supplier checking on it, its says not for sale in the US so maybe a Canada only product. Don't want to support GH much anymore but if it works it works.

Also not sure if my supplier will bring in anymore Megacrop. I sold their last 5 bags some days ago but with the market being so slow and their East coast offices closing gonna have a hard time convincing them to get another skid especially when MC is on a third revision. I had an offer with someone to split a skid but Greenleaf has no skid ready yet and not sure if I wanna tie up that much money. Their 1/2 skid looks ok price wise as long as I can sell most of the bags in 6 months. Wonder if I should do a group buy.

Damn, those are beauties for sure. Might have to give that a try myself.

What week do you switch from the mega to the 10-30-20? And what week do you switch from the 10-30-20 to the 5-12-26? And do you use those with the Jacks cal/nit or do you use something else?
