So I am about to have a go at growing from seed for the very first time. I was hoping some kind person would use this thread to guide me through the whole process from start to finish. I am in the UK and have diabetes and it really helps with high sugar levels and you are probably aware not available here. Have three seeds to play with but could get more if it all goes wrong.

In order to help you (fellow U.K. grower here) we need to know what you know already and what you plan to do?

Asking someone to hold your hand the whole way through is very time consuming and we all have our own lives and grows going on.

if you’re prepared to learn about aspects yourself I’d willing to help you learn.

but I one thing I won’t do is say

step 1 go and buy xyz
Step 2 setup xyz
Step 3 plant xyz

etc.

so do some research first about the style you want to go down whether it’s outdoor, indoor, what your budget is going to be, whether you want to run hydro/soiless/soil, LED air HPS, in a tent or dedicate a room etc.

there’s a lot to read about first before venturing down the rabbit hole.

but I can get you growing like me for around £500.

I Will be germinating indoors and then planting to a greenhouse ( which I an heat ).
Have you tracked the daylight hours or are you planning on using autoflower seeds?

Vegging photoperiod cannabis plants need at least 14hours of daylight in 24hours to keep in the vegetative stage of growth.

they need 12 hours of darkness in a 24hour period to keep in the flowering stage of growth. (It is the flowers that are the buds that we smoke etc)

If all you are trying to do is to get some homegrown to help with your medical issues then use some of B&Q’s best soil, make an informed choice by researching the soil first.

This way you will know how long the nutrients will last within the soil before you’ll need to supply nutrients.

when you’ve chosen your soil pop to home bargains and buy some Tamorite and their cheap seaweed or Kelp bottle of nutrients.

hey presto nutrients for a greenhouse grow for about £10 including the soil.

feed sparingly and ask for help whenever you think you have a problem.

Its going to take some time for sure. Just because they're auto flowering doesn't mean it won't take that long. Don't believe the whole 12 week gimmick. But they are easier to grow since you can just leave the lights going. The best thing you can do is get a good light and maintain a comfortable environment. The best advice anyone can give you is to just do it and learn. The plants will do better of you plant them in something like a 2 gallon planter. The only way you'll get good help is to just go ahead and start them and troubleshoot here as problems arise.

Hey Davy, id be more than happy to help guide you through your first grow. First you'll need to consider a couple of things.
Whats your enviroment like and Whats your budget? If you live in a climate that experiences extreme weather, outdoors is probably not for you, unless you can control the climate within the greenhouse. If temperatures are between 15 degrees Celsius and 27 degrees Celsius you should be good. As for budget, id recommend at least $250. This amount will get you high quality soil, pots, nutrients, ph adjusters and testers. Most of this cost will not be recuring, initial costs are always the highest. Depending on local prices this may be way off, I live in California where everything is stupid expensive.

Im not claiming to be the best grower on here but I do understand the fundementals of growing. At the end of the day its not about how much you spend or what brand you use, it comes down to whether or not you can optimize the nine cardinal parameters. ( CO2, temperature, humidity, light, wind, oxygen in the roots system, nutrients, water, and root-zone temperature) Some will need to spend more than others to achieve the same results solely based off their environment. If you'd like to learn more about these parameters give it a quick google search.

Keep in mind, there are many amazing growers on this site, but there's an equally amount of god awful ones who will tell you some outrageous shit. Im currently a student studying plant sciences and a firm believer that you should never take advice from somebody who starts off by saying "my buddy does/told me....". Don't listen to annectdotal bullshit, listen to the science.

Ps. If Jondamon is willing to take you under his wing, listen to him. He really seems to have his setup dialed in.

I would like this if I knew how lol. Beautiful canopy man  Im curious to what kind of light you're using and how big your space is. I just got 5 spiderfarmer sf1000's for my 4x4. Not my favorite brand but I got 3 for free. Right now I'm Pushing out about 950 mols of usable PPF or about the equivalent to 1.25 600 watt hps's. Curious to see if you're getting that type of bud structure with less or more .

btw... how do you like a post? Ive been reading on these forums for years but just recently decided to start contributing, so got no clue how to like or DM people. Any help would be cool

I’m using a single 400w HPS

my area is approx 7ft long 3ft wide and 8ft high.

Edit

but I only Utilise an active growing area of the size of my Scrog. 1m x0.8m

Ok that makes much more sense lmao. I was boutta say if you could fill 21 sqft with buds like that using only a 400 your a fucking god! Those look great though man. This grow I'm scrogging 5 plants and hoping for a much better yield than last time. My buddy plugged in my bubbler into the timer and didn't tell me. I was battling root rot everyday for a month trying to figure what tf was happening. Long story short, by the time I realized what was happening my root system was half the size it should of been for a plant of its size. ended up only getting 6 oz from two plants under my 400 watt. It was a sad grow.
