interesting thread, but alot of people have mexico all wrong, but yes at this time some places in mexico are fucked to shit, all the drug wars an what not, but i can name a bunch of beautiful places ive been too and never felt scared(but it might just be becuz i was born in mexico) or saw anyone get killed or raped , all i saw were beautiful girls smoked good weed smoked some bad also, drank lots of beer and tequila and the shrooms were good too =) and im not talking about tourists places, but yeah i have a few good friends in mexico that grow, well might just be my fualt lol, but yeah go mexico .

mexico is shit unless you go to mexico city but still a rough place. the beer is good, food, and last but not least the girls are hot. i would still stay away as people are getting shot and robbed all the time.

Been to both and smoked in both. Amsterdam was by far the best ... premium herb, mushrooms, and space cakes (editable pot) and it's safe and you know it's on the up & up. Mexico herb was nasty, nasty shit that I ended up flushing 1/3 of it down the toilet on the cruise ship instead of smoking. I've never done that before, but man it was nasty stuff. Must have been transported in someones ass or something. Plus if for some chance you got caught in Amsterdam, you may get a fine, probably just a verbal warning. If you get caught in Mexico, the police take you to an ATM machine and force you to withdraw the contents of your account or else.

you got it while cruising right? There IS lots of shit weed in the ports (Cozumel comes to mind) but there is dank in mejico. it's not a one stop shop like the dam. still, i'd rather spend my time on the the mex Riviera than the dam where the weather is as dank as the weed. could be sour grapes though ha ha

My wife and I went to amsterdam this summe, it was awesome. 100 coffeeshops, great atmosphere, were stoned like mfo's all these 5 days, but it's quite expensive. They use euros, which is like 1eur=1,5$. prices for buds and all are cool but everything else is expensive. Don't know anything about mexico but would try it out for sure papitto!

The image KaleoXXX and all this guys have of Mexico reflect mostly the close to the boarder towns, such as Tijuana and Ciudad Juarez. Which all tend to be dirty and poor and cowboyish. It would be nonsense to think that the whole country is like this northern shitty cities, with crappy weed and "rape trees" (which by the way, I think they're more of an urban legend than anything else) and narco ultra violence ant what not. It would be like thinking all USA is like Laredo, TX, when it is not.

If you are not a cheap bastard, who travels to TJ only to get wasted for a dollar and see donkey shows and what not, you could find out that Mexico is a quite pretty big country. There's this beautiful large coast along all the pacific coast from Ixtapa Zihuatanejo to The southern border in Chiapas. There's big vacational complexes as there's this virginal almost desertic beautiful beaches and islands (like that movie "The beach" kind of stuff) . There's Hippie towns along this beaches. There are some of the most beautiful places in the Oaxaca Coast both for people looking for clean uptight hotels and for the people who likes to get dirty and sandy, on a wood cabin on the first row of the beach, smoking one of the BEST home grown outdoors SKUNK I've tried, while you drink a nice cold beer while a stunning sunset shows off in the horizon.

Zihuatanejo, Vallarta, Playa del Carmen and Rivera Maya (except for Cancun, a USA Spring Break Colony), Puerto Escondido, Zipolite, Mazunte, Chacahua, Ventanilla, Michigan, Cozumel, Puerto Angel, Puerto Angelito, Huatulco, Oaxaca City, Playa San Benito, Costa Maya (in Chiapas), San Cristobal de Las Casas, Morelia, Puebla, Merida... and sooo many other are so good that you would have to actually be there to know what Im saying.

I also find kind of a little unfair to compare Amsterdam to all Mexico in weed terms. Weed in Mexico is NOT legal. Its close to, but not quite. And the premium weed I've tried in deep Mexico, is mostly outdoor grows under the sun; great skunky n creamy colas that feels fresh as picking your own strawberrys. I also have to say that the weed I've tried in major cities in Mexico is not as good. When weeds I've tried in Amsterdam is super potent delicious creamy buds that won't let you walk back to your hostel straight. Both places have their ups and downs. For the hippie backpacker who whants to make friends on the finest beaches with the finest bitches (I had to write it! It rhymes!), and smoke 100g of super skunk for like 15 USD, and eat like a Mayan King (real Mexican food's soooo goood!), the choice is obvious and cheap. If you wanna go budd tasting different strains and stuff go to Amsterdam.

Ahhh... they're both great... it would be tough desition...

dude you dont wanna go to mexico, even if it has been decriminalized, that doesnt mean it is legal, that just means that they downgraded how serious of an offense it is. plus crime in mexico is up the roof.... if you really wanna smoke the best marijuana you ever have, go to amsterdam,......if you are looking for another good pot vacation, ide serriously recomend jamaica, it isnt legal but its very easy to get inexpensive hash, weed and mushrooms, i got an ounce in ocho rios jamaica for 30 bucks

Man I've been to Mexico a lot - was stationed at Fort Huachuca which is about 15 miles from the Mexican border. [Ft. Huachuca is the place in Clear and Present danger where equipment intercepts, via voice pattern recognition and analysis, the cell phone conversations of some drug dealers - just FYI lol]. But damn, going across the border on the weekends was always an exercise in risk management. Those border towns are dirty, nasty, violent little places. We never went into Mexico without a group of us to watch each others backs... and there were still several people that ended up getting mugged/robbed/attacked/etc through the time I was there (usually because they drank too much and let their guard down).

There are a few good places (touristy) to go in Mexico - but also a lot of bad places you just don't want to go to... and at those border towns especially you are in the sights of a lot of people (from scammers to beggars to robbers) who literally will wait for you to cross and move away from the border control point. lol

I'd take an Amsterdam trip over a Mexico trip anyday. It's just more fun to be able to relax and not worry about being robbed, kidnapped, and forced into performing donkey shows or something. lol
