ive been a dirt bagger for a long time and i am considering trying out a newhydroponic system that i built. i have always used molasses in my recipe for soil. i realize it feeds the bacteria and microorganisms in the soil creating a thriving root zone, resulting in larger yields. does molasses have any benefits for hydroponic growers? from what i understand, it also makes your buds tastier and sweeter. maybe it will work for hydro too?

ps if u dont have any experience, dont just guess. 90% of the people on this site dont know anything. im looking for the other 10%

I put my molasses in a jog of hot water and let it dissolve first buy shaking it for 10 minutes and then letting it cool down over the next day. THen that water I use with my nutes solution for my hydro system and never had a problem.

Without microorgansism in the water, molasses will not get broken down into usable food. It' just sits there, pollutes, and attracts harmful microbes. You can displace the harmful microbes with beneficial ones, which will break down the molasses into chemical fertilizer, same as in soil. But in hydro, it has the same effect as just adding more fertilizer.
