missed the beatifull result of your first monstercropping run.
Will follow your findings here, like to moster crop also.
I didnt cut of the flower and had them more or less in the corner for some time, so it took a bit.
Even if, the fact that you can preserve some genetics you like and start a second run with it is worth quite some.
The cloning process was also easy for me 100% rate, a good clone gel is the key.

Well, now we know. I saw monster-crop videos and some said do, some said you don't need to. Both were right, but snipping the top of the flower helps it revert faster.

Since I grew it out like a manifold, (like I'm starting these) I ended up with over 5oz dry from a 5 gallon pot, and I'm still smoking on it. It was nothing but tops, and even the lower nugs on those tops dried to the size of ping-pong balls.

That is why I got rid of all the inner sprouts this time as well, worked last time.

And it's still sticky enough that there's no keif in the grinder. Almost 2 oz pictured, the smallest bud weighs 5g.

And then there were 6. The one in the blue circle was questionable, but has an interesting 'trident' top with 3 sprouts, so I kept it.
IMG_0347_LI.jpg The two I didn't top went opposite directions.
#6 took off, 4 limbs on the bottom, but I can't tell from where yet. As it gets bigger and I clean it up I'll see. I got the middle cleaned out, and the top has sprouts as well.
IMG_0345.JPG
But #7 (called it from the beginning) was slow, and only had one sprout.
IMG_0346.JPG
I dissected her, and this was what stayed together when I gently lifted it out
IMG_0364.JPG
That tells me that if the others are similar, I should probably keep watering around the edges for a bit instead of soaking them. It wasn't to the pot edge. but the roots still were bountiful
IMG_0366.JPG
So I stuck her in the dirt out back, to at least give her a fighting chance. :) Not growing her. Sink or swim baby. She might get run-off from the plants, but no special attention.

Day 37 keepers.

I think these will fit in the flower room fine with some training, but I may flip them in here waiting for my flower room harvest around the end of the month so they don't get too big.

looking forward to see their development.
What is your opnions on growth vitality regarding monster cropped clones?
To my opnion they tend to be bit more vital then regular clones, but i can be easily wrong.
Would be also very interessted to see if there will be any change in THC and /or terpentene count, compared to normal clones.

As to the questions, More 'vital'? I think a plant grown from seed is always your best bet. I had 3 flower-clone harvests so far. One had issues and harvested early; one I harvested at about 70% brown pistils, 80% milky and about 5% amber; and one foxtailed and started a whole new run of clear trichs and went another 2 weeks. That's the buds above, and you can see how knobby they are. So I think it's still about how you grow it - and that would answer the THC question. I don't think you'll exceed the advertised limits of your strain by monster-cropping.

As far as growth, watch my next update in a few minutes ;) Once they start, you have to prune them back or they become unmanageable

Training day :)
Day 38 and they got fed and LST'd. Didn't do much pruning this time, broke off one shoot trying to train it. Ooops LOL

So here's the specifics.
#1 - easy one. 3 limbs - triangle. I'll keep pruning shoots on the lower ones until they reach the pot-edge, but I may have to get creative on the top. Their mother stretched about 100% of the veg height. IMG_0390.JPG

Same thing, but this one has the 2 on the top, so it hasn't stretched as much - secondary sprouts are a lot beefier already.

Two on this one with a slow and a fast side. I added grafting wax over the node so it wouldn't split or break.

Broke a decent secondary shoot off right above the upper hook. It'll grow more... This one has a slow and a fast side too.

If both bottom limbs stretch out, the plan is to have the 4 tops at 4 corners, then arrange the sprouts from there. That one in the middle will be left alone.

@cobshopgrow this is a good example of the explosive growth (many sprouts) that you won't get with regular clones. And all the little scars and calyx-sites on all the stems are more sprouts waiting to happen or ones I already pruned.

You know how you can get random nugs starting on the trunk or woody stems late in flower on pretty much any plant? Imagine if at harvest your whole trunk was covered with them. That's the difference.

If you look, on some of them I added extra opposing hooks so I wasn't just pulling the whole plant sideways. As they grow and get more green-stems to play with, I'll untie and re-position stuff as needed.

#6 might be the centerpiece. I can't train anything yet, but I don't think I'll need to do much. She's growing more or less like a Christmas Tree. There are 4 limbs at the base all pointing in good directions. I pruned some junk above them but left a few more sprouts above that, which might be from the 2 flower sites just under the top. Then it has the center sprout because it wasn't topped.

So it takes longer, but if you get one that is formed right it might be an easier grow.IMG_0395.JPG

thank you for the pictures and detailed explanations.
Youre really training hard, every shot have its plan layed out allready, not bad.
I struggled a bit with the pruning on mine, never really know what to cut of.
What helped a lot was the scrog net, they where easy to train and get flat.
Can may post a picture here if you want, theyre 2 weeks in flower (no single finger leaves anymore since long, lookin normal),
screen is full and i think i need more deleafing pruning.

Post away, not my bandwidth.

I tried one scrog, never again. I don't like having the plants tied in place. The training I am doing is to keeps the tops pretty level, but I would rather have separate heights than have 6 plants I can't touch for two months. You can always raise the pots on shorter plants.

All but one are putting out true leaves now.
IMG_0408.JPG
Last time, I flipped one of the 3 at this point just to see what happens.
IMG_0410.JPG
I kept training it as it stretched in flower, then let it go and ended up with 2oz in a 2 gallon pot like these. I had issues with the plant and it may have been just because the roots weren't as far along as I thought, and she just wasn't ready yet. The other 2 did better, but I averaged 1oz/gallon. I had 3oz from a 3gal and over 5 from the 5gal. I'm not re-potting any of them, but I think I'll wait a week or so before flipping. I'd like the see the last one going well before I flip.

nice job, what a difference to your last picture.

I found my monsters perfect for a scrog, they filled out easily the net.
Had to deleaf a lot, may a few days too early, but overall i think that can work.

15 days 12/12

That looks awesome! I guess growing like you are, you can't move the plants anyway, so the net seems perfect. Tying them down and adjusting them would be a pain unless you can get the plants out and play with them. Whatever works!

More training and pruning. I'm getting rid of most of the shoots until they get to the pot edge.
IMG_0418.JPGA couple are really taking off, so I bend them while they are green as possible
IMG_0421.JPG IMG_0422.JPG
And I happened to get a decent pic of what those calyx-looking things on the stems really are. Each one is a leaf-bud that will produce a shoot.
