Anyone ever try growing mushrooms? I got my jars all ready, 10 of em. Vermiculite and brown rice flower. Took me 4 places to find vermiculite (damn you canadian growers!) and brown rice flower, I never found but heard you can use a coffee grinder to bust em down to flower so thats what I did. Then I didn't have a pressure cooker but you can steam them for 90 minutes in a pot as long as the glass isn't touching the bottom of the pot. When I get money (only got $30) I'm buying 2 golden teacher syringes

Got any pictures of your grow?, post em up!IMG_0027.jpg

I have a bunch of jars in the incubator at the moment.

B+'s and golden teachers and F+'s.

Peeked at them today 2nd day after innoculation and have a small

mycelium cloud started so morrow it should be busting out. I will add pics in a new Husalife Mushie

thread as soon as they get going good.

This is going to be a HUGE PROJECT once i get going good.

I did B+'s in the past and grew lbs this time I really have my shit together.

I cant wait.

Spores are legal to have for "studying" Mycology, so you can order them legally in most states. they are around 20-30 buck for a 10cc syringe

Mushrooms also have multiple flushes. A flush is a harvest, for example if mushrooms grow out of you brf cake and you collect them correctly new ones will grow until it uses up all the brown rice flour food.

Mushrooms are a very fun side project to keep you busy.

Yes, they can be hard to produce but thats ok with me, otherwise

everyone would be growing them and they would be no fun.

It seems that you already have the idea of what needs to happen but if along the way

you need help feel free to message me and I will help you out all I can.

Shroomery.org is a nice site, I am a member there and have been for years.

bro i know. No need to yell i am right here. do you have a HEPA fan that blows air on you while you inoculate? It blows away any dust/mold/airborne bacteria's in you work space.

I used cups instead of jars, a pot instead of a pressure cooker, and in innoculated the cups right on my counter. I only lost 2 out of 7 cups. I guess I got lucky! I grew the amazon strain. It was a fun little project, pretty easy if you can follow directions; have a little ingenuity.

I named all my jars. (using the pf tek method.) I named 4 of them after the beatles. John Lennon and George Harrison got moldy. Paul and Ringo lived. Weird eh?

I just started soaking popcorn for 12 quart jars. I have self-sealing rubber ports for the lids. I am also going to make two quart jars of Liquid Culture (LC) with water and corn syrup.

I even got me one of those All American pressure cookers....

I fire it up tomorrow...
good luck to all the mycology dabblers.

Good luck Tommy on your travels.

I use a Tek found on the net to inoculate this time.

soak a sponge in alcohol and insert needle into sponge

take tin foil off jar and put sponge with needle in it over hole and press

needle into your jar. Hold down on the Sponge when pulling the needle out

and wah lah.
