Hey everyone this is my first grow ever. I would appreciate it if anyone can input their knowledge throughout the thread to help me as this grow is going to be mainly focused on educational purposes and learning as much as I can, but I would definently love it if I got some good bud out of this grow.

I ordered 4 strains from Nirvana:

Kaya Gold Fem (5 Seeds)
Supposedly very good for begginers to grow, Hybrid, 8-9 weeks Flowering

AK 48 Fem (5 Seeds)
Sativa Dominant, 9-11 Weeks Flowering

Full Moon Fem (5 Seeds)
Pure Sativa, 13-14 Weeks Flowering

Northern Lights Fem (5 Seeds)
Indica Dominant, 7-8 Weeks Flowering

What I will be planting are 2 seeds from each of those strains and Ill be trying to germinate a bunch of random Indica Bagseeds. I'll be planting the rest of the seeds from each of those strains next season when I have a bit more experience

So right now, what's germinating is:

2x Kaya Gold
2x AK 48
2x Full Moon
2x Northern Lights

8 Bagseeds

My plan is taking all the seeds that germinate correctly and putting them in 2" Jiffy pots filled with Super Soil Potting soil. I cant really keep them indoors right now so I was wondering If putting the Jiffy pots in a tray and then putting them on the roof of my house would be a good idea until they have sprouted and grown a bit?

How tall should the plants be before I transplant them into bigger pots and what size should those pots be? I plan on moving them to the 3 spots I have out in the woods when I first transplant them.

I will also be planning on using Fox Farm nutes later on and trying out LST'ing.

If someone could give me an explanation on the whole fox farm lineup and how /when I should use them that would great.

Anyways, I'll just be posting my progress on this thread and hopefully get help and pointers form people who HAVE grown.

By the way, I live on Guam, so its sunny year round.

Just came over from your thread about Fox Farms, and wanted to get a sense of your grow. I would generally recommend going with just one strain to start-- each strain has its own needs/behaviors, and it can cause some confusion if one of your plants is getting nutrient def. while others are getting burned. Consider going with the Kaya Gold or Northern Lights (one or the other), and maybe some of the bagseed, if you really want to mix it up.

I would not put the sprouts up on your roof. The little guys are delicate and in that environment could be eaten or cooked from the heat. Keep them inside under a CFL until they get a couple sets of leaves. Super Soil has its own fertilizer in the mix, and can burn young seedlings. Do yourself a favor and get some Jiffy Mix seed starter and don't fertilize at all for the first couple weeks.

Transplanting when young-- you will want to transplant when the plant is 2x the height of the pot (or tray) that it is in. You'll also know when it is time because you will have to water every couple of days. Once you are in a 1 gal. pot, it can stay there until it is about 1 foot high.

You should spend a bit more time reading the FAQs of this site, and maybe pick up a decent book on cannabis cultivation, before you germinate. I'd hate to see you lose the investment you have made in the seeds.

Finally, for Fox Farms. I use the line, including Grow Big, Big Bloom, and Tiger Bloom-- no other product is necessary. Note, however, that the fertilizers can be acidic. Also note that if you get the right mix of soil, no added fertilizer is necessary.

I'm afraid you're starting waaaay too late to get any yield. It will be mid September before they begin to bloom, and November before they finish. New England? Pot doesn't like snow. Or freezing temperatures.

The OP lives in Guam-- no snow to worry about there, the lucky stiff.

Yeah live in Guam. Won't need to worry about snow :p.

When I looked at the sunrise/sunset times they should start flowering around Mid September to the beginning of October then finish around November/December. So it might be a okay yield.

Thanks for the help. Unfortuantly the other seeds already have a tap root coming out of the seeds so I think I will just plant them anyways. I think what I'll do is get a rubbermaid tub and just hang some CFL's in their for now until they sprout. But I guess I need to get the seed starting soil first before I plant the seedlings.

Thanks for your help with FF. Ill be sure to read through the sites FAQ's as well and lean more.

Im going to head over to Home Depot today. What about the Seed Starting Peat Pellet things? Would those be good for planting the seedlings?]

Also for CFL's they should be 6500k because they are vegging, correct?

A lot of folks here use peat pellets, though if you have germed the seeds, it will be easier to plant in loose seedling soil. I use Promix-- of course I grow in a soiless medium; Jiffy mix is easy to find.

Correct on the CFL. Be well.

A) If no one can see them and you can water daily, I see no down side.

A) Once the babies have three sets of leaves, they can be transplanted. OR, when roots appear coming out of the pot.

I would be careful about bud rot with your indica dominant strains. I stay on Guam too and the humidity here is a bitch. Try planting them so they finish around febuary. That way the rainy season should be slowing down once the buds start getting dense, and the days are still short enough that it shouldnt mess with an indica's flowering.

I agree with this. I was curious as to when the rainy season was. Good info chamaole2

it varies about a month short or long every year but it usually starts around mid june and begins to slack off in late november to early december. its raining hardest right around harvest time, but nearly all the bud i've seen and smoked here has been sativa dominant, except for some imported stuff. I think that this is partly because the skinnier fluffier buds won't get it as easy so its a good choice. And they just thrive here in jungle soil under the equatorial sun.

nice dude im doing the same thing in florida, im vegging a whole bunch of plants under cfls in a 35 gal rubbermaid container and then throwing them outside.

i personally think its the best way to go, i vegged one indoors for 2 weeks under 24/0 and another week under 18/6. Its been a month and a week now, and its 3 ft tall outside :mrgreen:

it is a very sativa plant, but i still think this is the best way to grow, especially cuz u never have to worry about environmental factors once it gets big enough

Wow what happened to this thread, i'd like to meet other growers from Guam! nice place...but not too many knowledgable growers around here anymore, mostly stubborn dicks...Lol...
