The hawk is doing what it's does naturally in it's home habitat. I'm not going to do anything to stop it.
then what's the point of this thread? :?

fail poster has failed again. :(

you are creating an unnatural environment by putting food out for the birds. simply stop feeding them and your problem will be solved. unless you feel your "study" is worth it.

Don't you have some raccoons to feed hypocrite? Fucking unnatural environment lol. and if I was your neighbor you'd be getting a knock at the door.

It was probably the fact you were implying people commit suicide in defense of a fucking cat. That's crossing the line of psycho and more than likely why the thread was closed. You crossed the line, like always.

I used to visit the desert's of S. Cal a lot.... Imperial County.... The Canal, off the Colorado River was Cemented in [they were loosing to much acre footage to soak in]...
When they made it concrete for miles, they had to add 'wild life' feeders out from the canal, because the steep sides of canal didn't afford easy entry to water for the small desert beast's that were now using the area... Law of unintended consequences... birds/animals of prey, just got lazy and hung out near feeders.... waiting for next meal... I went to a DAC Meeting and some old timer said:

"....we must fund upkeep of government mandated wild life feeders which must support the wildlife which was brought to the area artificially by humans building a soft side canal in the first place...WTF...now ...if we don't fund, we are somehow tampering with nature ?"

I was down to try some cat too while in China but contrary to popular belief they don't eat it. Something about it being too tough. Anyways, what kind of hawk is that Carne?

Pretty sure it was the senseless name calling and shit talking that got it closed. Won't get Carnes thread closed by arguing with you so I've said what I have to say.

Yeah. Ignoring him has been the best method of dealing with his bullshit. I just smile when I see the little message saying he's blocked.

Domestic cat flesh definitely has its own odor (which I'm sure would translate into taste). Some trappers in Alaska use road kill cats for an attractor scent for Lynx, Fox & Coyote.
However, that said, I have eaten Lynx and it is fantastic - very mild white meat that is actively traded & sold because of its edibility.
Besides, eating pussy is good for you.

i'm not a hypocrite at all. i'm not the one complaining and i'm not the one killing harmless animals.

the thread was closed due to the fact people were talking of killing cats. in should know, i was the one who had it closed. :)

I set up some bird feeders to draw in as many wintering birds as I could. I'm doing a comparison/contrast study of winter and summer plumage. Well it seems my feeder has another purpose.

It's now the local take-out for my resident hawks. My poor little Goldfinches! :(

you created a trap. it worked. the hawk thanks you for it.

if you want it to stop simply undo what you did.

problem solved.

you can call me all the names you want to, but i'm right.

I wouldn't say get rid of it even using a water gun or something simply because it's just following the food. Just hope it eats the birds you don't like as much, and it's not like it won't be entertaining seeing it swoop down and nab one here and there. Sad I'll admit but hey that's nature, and nature can be pretty cool. :)

the peregrine falcons love the mourning dove at my feeder. sharp shinned and cooper's hawk's get the sparrows n finches. once in a while a big redtail will grab a squirrel, pretty cool imo.

A couple years back, I was outside walking around when I saw this little bird hopping around. I stayed back so it wouldn't fly away. Suddenly a huge hawk swooped down and squashed it with his talons. Then stomped on him with each foot about 3 times. He then picked him up and flew away. Everything happened so fast and all that was left were feathers and blood. Crazy.
