Just a quick update. In all the years of growing from seed, I have never had such thick stalks as the WH X. Maybe washing and drying toughens them up lol

That 3rd seed is taking her sweet-ass time popping: the 4th appears to be DOA. I think she needs an intervention.

Actually, it could be because the moon has been waning for the last week or so, which does not have the gravitational pull that new moon does.

OK, moving day.

Clones moved to T 5 tent under 4 @ 54w bulbs. Jostling the tub of clones, while moving, produced a lovely smell

2 UVL Aquasun (sort of hps light quality)
1 Coral Wave deep blue and 730-740ish
1. Zoomed Florasun

As they develop, I will add 2 UVL Red Lifes (324w) + some led side lighting: then towards the end I will replace one Red Life with UVL 660,

2 of the seedlings have nice penetration of root hairs just exiting the starter cubes, so were put into net pots. pvc couplers> bubbler, which ndis 45L/min using 4 Oxystones. The 3rd one is taking her sweet ass time, but expecting cotyledons by day's end

These look awesome- extremely high sex factor. Mount 30-50w chips on each, lay them out in a M cluster

At $ 90 X 7= $560 in heat sink, + shipping. Too rich for my blood, but I'll bet it would grow like a mofo, and look cool as hell. Cronik?



My upcoming Merkaba Style DIM (Do It Myself) will be using a 1 X 12 X ~ 40-46" wooden board (drill lots of vent holes), big enough for 3 M clusters, using ceramic light sockets + 6.5 -12w screw bulbs @ ~ 100 lumens/w = > 10,200 l/M cluster.

I bought the first gen 12w Philips RP for $20, so 12 of those (2 clusters) = $240 + 2 @ 6.5w NW @ 10 (which I already have) + misc, ~ $300. Adding a 3rd M cluster would cover ~ 18 X 48 with 30,000+ lumens, at a ~ cost of $450. Thoughts?

looking good pet.......I don't get why you don't use those Philips led flood lights @3000k from home depot, your negating the benefits of leds directional light output by buying those globe (60 watt incandescent replacements)....IMO

Conceptually, I like them, but have been afraid that the concentrated light would harm my girls. Seeing what Chronikool is doing, I may have to rethink it. In the mean time, I want to make a MC to satisfy my curiosity. Will it outperform the same combination of diodes that are not arranged in a MC?

This would be an awesome panel or mc design

Two of the BrandX seedlings are doing quite well. Clones are doing remarkably well under the HOT5. All now have 3 blade leafs.

LEDwholesalers dot com has T5 retrofit bulbs (20w). A friend ordered some for his overhead lighting. I hope to get to try them here (need to check if they are ok for HO fixture). Price is only $20-34, ~ $10 more than aquarium HO bulbs, but super long life more than compensates. I saw 7w bulbs at PetSmart for $45 dollars. Major rip off, but not compared to an aquarium store which had 2 for $399!

1pm, I just lowered the Spray cycle from 1/60 to 1/45

Thinking I should call it MY DIY 21st Century Top Spray and Drain

You know those T8 and T5 led retrofit bulbs you have to BYPASS the ballast and feed the electric to it directly......HO/electric/magnetic ballast mean's nothing cause your not using it; it has it's own drivers built into the endcaps.....

Hmmmmm... can I paint the half farthest away, and if so, with what paint?

As far as the PAR 38 SM bulbs, they are heavy, hie the sockets vanity fixture is flimsy. I would first need to proceed and build a fixture using well secured sockets.

Also they use < 1w diodes, and am not sure how well they will light, or lumen/w.

Do you have any experience with them?

I am thinking single chip (30w+) flood light fixtures

I am aware, but it didn't hurt to point it out. Think how many probably are not (too bad they're not reading my thread).

It occurred to me that my friend has T8s, so I won't get to try them here

Paint to aid in reflection??? any flat white (I prefer Behr prime/paint in one=less coats) with added titanium dioxide(more the better) and a fungicide.........VERY close to ORCA film at a fraction of the cost my friend.......you know I own both/ so this is personal exp.

i think he means to paint the inside to make like a kind of reflector, but im with you break them shrouds off call it a day.

balls not required, little bit of delicacy maybe, but there's nothing really "hidden" undertone there just diodes that are mounted like normal exposed ones.
