I did not weigh them wet, but I will after they dry and let you know. I don't think there will be much difference weight wise with SOG, but they are all tops. Like I said before buds on sticks. They are so stinky and loaded with trichs. I decided to let them dry a little with the sugar leaves on before trimming. I have heard that it makes the drying process take a little longer and contributes to a better aroma. Since I have no fan leaves and the buds have swallowed up the sugars trimming should be easy. 12/12 did work OK, but if I had to do it over again I would have vegged long enough to clone the tops of them. I really was rushed this go around and felt like I had no choice but to do a 12/12. All of my Dinafem freebies are puny due to the zero veg. I also had 10 big bang fems from GHS that aren't much bigger. They look and smell fantastic, but kinda small. I have read that they all go through a veg state even in 12/12, but that is BS. Some strains are just not good for this. I am very pleased with the Pure Power Plant from Nirvana !! They were straight run and not fems. They stood out in the flower room and they are standing out on the clothesline !! Doing as many as I did side by side shows you a lot. I would definitely recommend these to anyone. They are cheap too !! I read where someone tried the fems of PPP and did not like them, but these straight runs are killer. I am trying to reveg the stumps. Early on I took the best one and made a mom of it and I hope like hell her offspring do as well as all of her sisters. I have no pics at the moment, but if I take any I will give you a holler.-Gyro

Today is FEED Day!!

All of the girls are doing VERY WELL as you can see. I kept the feed strength the same as last time,, 3/4 Strength CalMag with Full Strength Lucas 0-5-10 and used 2.5ml PH Up this time.

PH - 6.16
PPM - 795 (.5)

I just received a quart sample of HydroRush free. Looks like this stuff could be pretty sick with a hempy. Should check it out

Rusty,

Everything looks great, glad to see the roots hit, so you can see a little hempy action. Plants look real healthy. I look at the NL Auto and all I can think is TOP. But with that said I've never grown an Auto so I could be way wrong. (just had some recent bad experiences)

If you or Gyro is interested I put together a journal entry to show my trials this past season Spring Summer 2012

Its my understanding that topping or taking clones from an auto is not advised due to the lack of veg stage, and all you really want it to focus on is budding for its limited life span. supossedly the are not big plants and dont produce a big yeald or anything, so they are what they are i guess. keep in mind that my auto is under cfl's, so its gonna be even smaller.

I transplanted clones today. 2 of them went int mini hempy's, and one went into a 2 liter hempy, then into the flower tent with the three 3gallon girls, so they are now under 400 watt hps. I also took 15 clones (5 each) and put them under the dome. Tomorrow is feed day, so i will take picks and post everything then.

Hey Rusty,
After speaking with someone who kows the Dyna line like the back of their hand I have been told that the mix I was using was way too strong. Like an idiot I followed a chart rather than experience, due to lack of experience with this line. I have cut the feeding in HALF. At this point not too sure if the Cal problem was a deficiency or a lock out from too strong of a solution, but what I am 100% on is that with Dyna and MY RO, a 1 to 2 Pro Tekt to Base lands me at or within .1 of 5.8 each time with very little fluctuation.
On another note. I just received a free quart of HydroRush. Ever heard of it? Stuff looks pretty tight. Could be a major benefit with hempy. If you want to grab a sample let me know, Ill dig up the link I used for it. And you ARE right, dont top the Auto. They have a quick few weeks of strong veg time then they enter a rapid fire flowering. Minor training has always help me though, and since youre using CFL id say try to start getting her horizontal. She will love you on bended knee if you know what I mean.

Your girls are looking great. I still feel like mine, even though they have hit the res, are still a bit smaller than usual. Maybe its the fact that Im using smaller pots but I have seen people in hempy with a mass of a girl in a tiny coffee can. Looking forward to your picture updates. And hey, sorry for posting on your thread without permission, thought I had a little to contribute to a few of your concerns. Thanks for having me!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

I would have thought that if the Nute solution was too strong, you would have burned and not be showing a deficiency, but you are right, too much of one thing can lock out another :-o

I have never heard of Hydrorush,, What is it?

I will be uploading new images shortly along with my water report. The girls are starting to work a little stretch on their cola's and looking great. I dont mind them being a little smaller than I think they should. My last couple of Hydro Grows simply outgrew my tent and turned into a big mess of a jungle. I am hoping to keep these new grows a little more under control, and they are already bigger than my first soil run, and since i just put them into flower, I think they are gonna do quite well over the next couple of months (fingers crossed).

Oh and dont worry about posting here, this is a public forum, and I have asked for help and input, so please feel free to share any Hempy info that I, and others can sift through

Hello Rusty,
I thought I would give you an update on my DWC/Hempy. I had another root problem with it. And it was looking so good too. At this point I am afraid to do a whole run of these until I do more tests/experiments. I have the test subject in water with some chlorine to kill whatever is on it. I don't know if it will make it this time. It had recovered so beautifully from the algae too ! I am so glad I decided to do tests before a run. I don't feel I have lost anything, but have gained knowledge. I have been doing a lot of reading on using sodium hypochlorite(bleach) and calcium hypochlorite(pool shock) vs H2O2 to control pathogens in water. The tests on bleach began almost a week ago on a few extra clones and so far it looks promising.

It looks like your grow is picking up steam. It is good to see. My newest girls in 2Liters are doing wonderful too. :peace:

Water Day Once Again!!

A couple of the plants were a little droopy last night, and not sure if its because they were thirsty, or because the temp is getting a bit hot, but they looked better this morning after lights on. I may have to start watering every other day now.

I had to make 3 separate nute mixes in order to water everyone today.

Both NLxBB and Fruity Chronic went into Flower yesterday, along with one Rooted NLxBB Clone in a 2 Liter Hempy.
I am upping their PPM now that they are under 400 watts and today hit PPM = 926 (.5) and PH = 6.11
Oh and Check Out the NEW Flood Tray!! Works great!!!!!!

Auto Northern Lights Blue has the Veg Space to herself for now
20120729_074800.jpg20120729_074828.jpg

NLxBB and Fruity Chronic Juice rooted clones were transplanted into their mini Hempy's
Fed them this morning with light nutes schedule from the GH 3 Part Bottles. PPM = 215 (.5)
20120729_074809.jpg

This is what the Clones Roots looked like. Not bad for 2 weeks since cutting.
20120728_075509.jpg

I decided to start the Clones and the Clone in Flower on the nutrient schedule from the 3 Part Bottles, instead of running the Lucas, in order to experiment a little.

I also took 15 Clones from the 3 that went into flower. They are still pretty sad looking, but a couple are already starting to pick their heads up. All we can do is wait and see how they do..

Other than the HEAT, everyone looks good :weed:

Yea I battled Algae in my last RDWC run, and it just kept coming.. I couldn't find a light leak, but there are so many parts and pieces, I was probably missing it somewhere. I tried 29% H2O2, but it really didn't do much but make the girls look droopy for a couple of hours, so I moved over to ZONE, and that seemed to work better, but was really only a bandaid to get me through my grow.

Experimenting is certainly best when it comes to the cost factor with these plants, I am sure you will figure it out. Its all about keeping the light out, and the water COOL :-o

Lets see some pics of those 2 Liters :leaf: I need something to compare mine to when they are at your stage :-P

Here is a link to the "How It Works" section on their site. http://www.hydrorush.com/how-it-works/

I mixed it in at 3mL a gallon with my nutes yesterday and the plants seem to be loving it, and the half strength solution I changed to. I, like you, thought Id see some serious burning if it was too strong but I didnt. Strange, strange scenario.

Some insight on MY feeding in the 2L bottles. I started from seed and am in my 5th week of veg in my 2 liters. I am feeding as soon as lights come on and about 8 hours later, running 18/6. If I had the green light in there this time I could probably do a 3rd feeding. Yesterday I sealed up my holes that were 2 1/2" up and redid them close to 4" up in hopes of keeping from having to water so frequently. Id say if you go str8 from cloner, to 2L and a weeks veg then right to flower you're sitting pretty. Not too sure the 2L are any good for a decent amount of veg. Many people say that you cant get root bound in a hempy. But then I also know some people that will force rootbound for some seriously compact nugs. I guess only time will tell.

Your flooring in the veg tent look very promising for your auto. Like I said, I would try to go horizontal if i were you to maximize your CFL. You could probably utilize the holes in the floor for a hook system and tie the girl down without much stress on her. Theres enough holes that you can do some serious tying and replicate a scrog minus the net. I think it would be pretty bad ass and I thank you for the picture. I may want to experiment with it as well. Once I did an outdoor grow and didnt want to much height. I built a little "rail" if you will and attached planter hangers on it every 10" for a tie down point. Once I got her to 2' she went sideways. Hid beautifully right behind the hedge.

Happy Sunday!

Looks really good Rusty. 15 clones at once. Well this will give you plenty of options on your next flower area run. I like to see folks go overboard, then I don't feel quite so weird.

I need to share my other hempy experiment, which is working quite well.

The Hydrorush stuff looks interesting, but if we are now talking about microbes and whatnot, then is the fact that the hempy's absorb/use the water until we provide more, going to kill the bennies? Is it meant more for full blown hydro? I guess you will be the Guinea pig on this one, so definitely keep us posted.

Most people running 2L bottles seem to go from rooted clone, right into flower as vegging it is a mute point since they are basically like GYRO is doing, and just growing ONE BIG BUD in each 2 Liter. From what I have seen, 2 liters are meant for SOG's, so no need to veg,, In fact most are Defoliating and letting the light get all up on the bud :weed:

I used PEG BOARD in the veg tent cause I used PVC to create a Frame inside the tent so I could have an Upper and Lower Section. Both upper and lower have Peg Board flooring so the heat can escape, and I didnt even think about using it for LST,,, Great IDEA!!!

This is my First Auto and My First veg tent, my first hempy, along with my first Perpetual, so I decided not to LST anything this go around, until I know how everything is going to flow. If I LST'd the Auto to the floor, I wouldn't be able to put anything else in there, and that could be a problem in a couple of weeks, so I am just going to let her do her thing naturally, and take what she gives. I did LST my first Soil Grow and some of my RDWC grows, and it certainly does help produce, but keeping everything tied down to a movable system, can be quite the chore. The Hydro runs were linked buckets, so nothing moves, and I used Fishing Weights to tie down branches.

Love the Tomato run!! I have a couple of Radish in a small hempy in the window. Unfortunately they are not getting enough light on the window seal, and no wind to help the stems, but I am just growing them to see what happens. I also have a SENSITIVITY PLANT in a Mini Hempy, in my window, and that is doing very well, but its an Indoor plant, so I am not surprised its doing fine with limited direct sunlight and no wind.

I am sure the 15 Clones is a little overboard for my situation, but I also doubt all of them will make it. None the less, I can donate extra's and plan to just 2 Liter most of them while keeping 2 for Veg and More clones. If all goes well, I will just keep doing this.

I can keep the light out, but cooling the water in a DWC will be next to impossible. I hear that the chlorine will let you run high temps. I guess I will see. I'll keep you posted...
Zone is also good for High Water Temps, but i think you can only go so far before the temps out-way anything you try. Certainly keep us up to date with your experiment!!
