My First Super Soil(ish) run

Just a forward this is my first all organic soil mixture practically the same formula as subcool's but with slightly different ingredients.

First here is my soil mix

Bottom Layer
  • Hydroton
  • Manure
  • Bone Meal
  • Greensand
  • Bloodmeal
  • Bulb Food
  • Alfalfa Mix
  • Rice
Middle Layer
  • Global mix 50% Soil 50% Perlite
  • KelpMeal
  • Bat Guano 10-2-1
  • Bat Guano 0-5-0
Top Layer
  • Earthworm castings
  • Bat Guano 10-2-1
  • Bat Guano 0-5-0

The mixing process started at putting all the bottom layer ingredients and sprinkling the alfalfa and the blood meal also the manure evening then mixing it. Then putting it at the bottom of the 10 Gallon smart pots then watering it down.

Then when doing the middle layer we put together the 50% roots organic soil and mixing it with 50% perlite while adding in the kelp meal and the bat guano.

The top layer we haven't done yet where going to first place the plant inside then spread the top layer around it. Instead of making it all at once and digging a hole in order to transplant. This way you avoid mixing the layers when digging.

Well we are running 18 of these as now with 4 different strains. Lavender, White Rhino, ak47, Trainwreck, blueberry, cali d Which have all been vegging in 2 gallon smart pots under florescent light for 2 weeks.

Now to explain the pictures a little bit. The pictures of the close up bud are White Rhino that have been grown completely organic, not with a super mix though. And the entire plant reaches as if it were outside. All of them.

Then where all those tiny plants are that grow space I refer to as "The tunnel" we veg under there after clone before it goes to the next veg room ( after we transplant) Those smart pots are the 18 ones we have set and ready other then the top layer.

The nutrient pics should look familiar there's a variety of different line ups. I did a close up on the organics.

I got these pics from one week after being transplanted they have seemed to enjoy the soil. Almost all of the plants are reaching too looking rather healthy. Just been giving them plain water.IMAG0006.jpgIMAG0005.jpgIMAG0007.jpg

I am not cutting out the bottom of them it seems that roots have no problems growing through them. This is my third crop I have done like this.

The plants are changing rather quickly at this point so I will post some picks of the topping going on here.IMAG0014.jpgIMAG0013.jpgIMAG0016.jpgIMAG0018.jpgIMAG0012.jpgIMAG0017.jpgIMAG0015.jpg

There seems to be consistent leaf curling and twisting. Looks sort of shriveled in some plants. It's consistent with the different strains. All have only been fed water up to now. Is this a common occurrence? The plants still seem to be green and healthy.

Well it's been two since those pics. The plants have grown on since then, except for the white rhino which still seem to be turning inside out. So maybe that strain is less resilient to the mixture. Or the mixture was off in the 3 White Rhino. Either way there hasn't been too much burning. Here are some day 17 pics

Tomorrow these are going to go under 12/12 so I decided to take pictures that whole leaf development didn't seem to take a toll on them too much. And I think we are going to start teas in the next couple weeks.

Well here are the plants around 2 weeks of flowering. The light made the pictures pretty difficult to look at. And the flowering room these were moved in were also occupied by 2 different sets. The plants themselves are showing burning on the ridges a little bit. over all they don't look bad can't wait to see some buds popping.

Looin' good man. Yea it looked like the soil was a little hot, it's that blood meal, it can be hot. Oh well, no harm no foul right?. I had trouble with WR outdoors last year. It just was too finicky in my soil mix and I don't think it liked the heat either. Someone told me that WR likes a different PH, who knows. Keep it up!

I haven't done this in a while. It looks night and day the cola's are really starting to develop. No real troubles anymore they look pretty good. No mites or anything.
