My first whole room SCRoG

Things ive noticed that would be easier for next time.

number1.
make sure plants are centred in the Scrog.

I started with them near to centre but slightly more to the back thinking I could train them forward towards the front of the net. While this has been possible it’s a pain having to twist and move shoots from the rear of the net towards the front etc.

number2.
Leaving twisting around the net until stretch which could have been done during veg rather than just pushing back under the net to the next square.

so next time I will definitely begin twisting when tucking during veg.

Other than that so far so good. I’ve been enjoying the full room scrog and once you get passed that initial moving around for best position of new growth into squares etc it’s actually pretty easy to tuck and move and reposition.

Another tucking update.

1.0EC 6.0pH
Just Dutch pro grow hydro coco A/B

Screen is filling in nicely.

By the end of this week I envisage it will be 95% full and I will discontinue tucking and begin trimming off areas that won’t reach the screen.

Last nights update at day 13 of 12/12.

EC 1.0
pH6.0

dutch pro Hydro coco Grow A/B
Plant magic MagneCal 0.5ml per litre.

did a small amount of tucking last night but am now allowing them to grow up so I can see where needs trimming off (defol) to give everything some room.

over the weekend I will be trimming these plants up slightly to allow space for buds to develop.

After this weekend I will be switching to the BLOOM formula for DUTCH PRO to see why so many people are having issues with the bloom mix namely @budolskie from this point on you may want to pay attention to what I’m doing.

After pay day in a week or so I will be buying all of this.

To try and create an automated drip feed system for my current 2 plants.

this will be easy enough to manipulate for extra plants etc.

all I will need will be a another 2 T’s and some extra drip rings to increase to 4 plants.

Progress update from last night.

I have mixed my first batch of BLOOM by Dutch pro last night after not using this version of nutrients for well over 2 years.

for those reading I can tell you that the BLOOM formula has
1. More Nitrogen than the grow formula
2. Elevated levels of Ca and Mg.

due to this I will not be adding any Calmag as the Calmag I have also has nitrogen and iron in it along with the Ca and Mg.

If I feel I need to feed Calmag I will do it separately on a feeding day whereby I’ll most likely add the EC of normal feeding but Of just CalMag so if I’m feeding at 1.2EC I will feed just Calmag that feeding at 1.2Ec with no other additional nutrients as not to supply an over load of N.

now to the pics.

these pics mark day 15 of 12/12.

current EC 1.0 pH5.8 the only reason the pH has dropped below 6.0 is that I added a little too much pH down but no bother as it’s still above 5.5 and below 6.5.

I did a bit of under canopy pruning last night and a small amount of defoliation above the canopy.

I will continue doing this as I see fit or until I’m happy with how the canopy has formed.

One thing I didn’t plan for.

the scrog is actually lifting off the floor a little bit so before I do any further use of the scrog I will most likely fill the legs etc with sand and silicon the tubes so nothing can escape.

That should help to weigh the scrog down a bit more.

School boy error alert! Lol.

when I switched to my HPS lamp I forget to confirm which one I installed the new or older one.

turns out last night when I was feeding I found my “new” lamp still on the shelf lol.

so I’ve just popped in to do a quick lamp change during dark cycle and figured I’d snap a pic or 2 for you all.

EC 1.0 don’t forget!

I can made the water rings really easily. I would buy a cross fitting and double up the rings. I used some premade ones and ended up with a lot of dry coco on the surface.

I can always punch extra holes in the rings.

Another reason I’m doing this is to show how easy/hard it is with items already available for sale.

don’t get me wrong I love being McGyver but not this time lol.

at the end of the day I’m hand watering DTW every day so if this helps to automate it then great.

If it doesn’t work I’ll just use it for watering lol.

I feel that. I hand water 24 flowering plants along wit 24 vegging plants half of the time. I've tried a bunch of different automated ways, but it's hard because of how my tents are setup and the different mediums I was using.

It just takes a piece of vinyl tubing, a hole puncher and a fitting. The difference is you can customize the size or add more rings. But the premade ones might work just fine.

Like I said the rings for me are an “easy” option and I’m all about showing someone else “how to” hence the DIY scrog build in DIY section of General MJ forum.

if the floor is wood they sell an adapter for the pvc and you can srew it to the floor or get 4 bricks and attach the adapters to them and then glue them on filling with sand would be a waste of energy that scrog is going to start lifting fast
