My Room

Finally finished my room. Gonna germ tonight and get things going.
This room is located in the basement which is actually the cold cellar..thus the insulation all around.

Any opinions or observations??

Very very Nice. Remember to use a green bulb if your in 12/12

Yeah the plants can not see green so I use them and do my clean up when lights are out.

Technically they do not use the green color spectrum, hence it does not disrupt the photoperiod.

Well there you go.

Got my 5 feminized Great White Shark seeds from Green House Seed Co. and germed in paper towel for 39 hours. Roots sprouted on all 5, now they're in pots with potting soil mix. Room is 4x6 with 600W MH. Think I'll go 20/4 for seedling stage.

man nice setup comin along nice! 20/4 is good 18/6 to save more money lol but either way is still great but i normally do 24/0 idk just me lol

Thanks. Room is about 76F, direct light temp on the plants is 80F. Temps directly on the plants was initially hovering around 90...much too high so I put the fan on low and directed it towards the light on low speed. I'd like to keep the light close as possible.

Def closer the better but you dont want to harm them. Sumtime my room got up to 90 and didnt really see the plants act different sum can handle sum cant. Nontheless you did the right thing! Great work bro!

Great White Sharks are surfacing to the top.

I would take the plastic off. They might get too much moisture and drowned. I keep my veg 24/0 from seed. My Violater Kush is 4' tall now and has 9 days left before it can go into 12/12.

Looks good, but a couple things. 1. I would move your light closer to your plants. 2. I would take off the plastic film from your pots as this greenhouse effect that you're creating is nly necessary for germinating.

Thanks for the tips. I did turn the lights off the first night for four hours, but since then I've been going 24/0. I did remove the cellophane that same night...soon as the seeds popped through. I was thinking of lowering the light a bit now since they've all popped. Lowered the light...it's now 18" above plants and put my hand under and no problem at all heat wise...18" okay? Here's some updated pics...

18" is still way too high...I would have them 5" - 7" above the plants.

One thing you might want to consider though once the plants grow a little. I would take the mylar out from under the plants, the reflection on the underside of the leaves tends to have an adverse effect most of the time. Anyone else agree?

I have the light at exactly 15" above the plants. I've tried it lower, but it seems too warm on my hand, i don't wanna burn the plants. ??

I read in George Cervantes' book that you should "put mylar everywhere...floors, walls, ceilings".

Let's see what other peeps have to see about light height and mylar........anybody??

Nice setup bro! 5-7 inches is wayyy to fucking close for seedlings unless you're running a cooltube or something. Keep it at the height you have, and if they start looking lanky then try lowering the light. As far as the mylar concern that, too, is not a problem. I personally prefer to use flat white paint. Reasoning dor this is the ease of cleaning. Once mylar gets dirty is damn near impossible to clean and a pain in the ass.
