4 x 4 x 4 = 32/12= 2.91 cubic inches (what the fan would push with one rpm, unrestricted)
12 x 1.5 x 1 = 18/12 = 1.5 cubic inches ( what your intake is allowing the fan to suck)
2.91 > 1.5
your intake is too small..... make it match, or be bigger than the cfm of the fan

lol shit... yeah my math was off..... thats what i get for doing it in my head whilst taking my morning meds.
to elaborate, that formula is not 100% accurate as far as what the fan actually pushes, its just used to show the approximate volume of air that could be pushed through the fan under perfect condtions.
the /12 function is used to express cubic feet (CFM). dont divide by 12, and you get cubic inch

so you push the hot air from the top of the grow room to the bottom..
most people would do it the other way around and pull the hot air from the top out. the reason being the hot air rises and the top of the tents hotter and by keeping this cooler you will keep your growrooms environment much more cooler..
you normally try to keep the hot air away from the plants. it can cause problems with humidity at the bases of plants etc if it goes really wrong thats why we try and keep cool air around the bases of the plants/grow room.
