Need advice how to setup perpetual grow

Hello,

I will go straight to the subject so: I need advice on how to setup a perpetual (/monthly) grow tents! Like how many tents, which one to be veg, which to be for flower and so on.....

! (I know it was discussed around, even a few days ago I read some "perpetual grow topic" but everyone have a different case and further you read you'll understand) !

I'm on my 5th grow or so, and until now I just improved and invested in equipment. Many of you have more experience than me and no one likes to run out of herb I suppose. Now after I did some good research, grow myself until I understood somehow the meaning of growing, ordered and have some good quality seeds I need to now the best solution for my case. I live in an one room apartment so the space is kinda small; what I intend to do is harvest monthly and my idea is to have 1x veg tent with seeds (veg for shortest amount of time ~1 month- ~5 weeks) and will add seeds monthly and have 2x flowering tents which will have a month delay between them and will need another tent to dry. Now if you have any advice or if you have better imagination than me please let me know. Thank you for your time!

Well its best to allow 10weeks for flowering on average, obviously there are strains that go way past that but most 8 weekers are going to take you longer than 8 weeks.

So allow 5 weeks veg, 5 weeks gap between flowering plants. Maybe consider a propagating area that you can sit on top of your veg tent and start your seeds under low light.

Everyone does things differently and there is no solid rule. But I used to feed a 8x4 flowering tent with a 4x4 veg tent and keep clones separate (since that's quicker than seed)

Obviously your probably not going to have the room for that so maybe a 2x4 and a couple of 3x3s if you have room.

You could save floor space and fit a couple of propagating tents on top of your flowering tents just for drying. Vent them into the flower tent so the filters in there do the air cleaning.

Or you could have tents which you grow start to finish and just stagger them. Though I would still recommend starting seeds in a separate small space which you could also root clones in if you find a strain you want to keep.

So many ways to go about it. Everyone has to find the best way for them since we all have different needs.

This is brilliant, I thought of storing stuff on the tent but never really thought of drying :D Thanks, it helps a lot your reply.
As space I have a 4x4 tent (intended for flowering), a 2x4 closet room (intended also for flowering), a 3x3 tent (intended for veg/seeds and maybe mother clone if space permit) and I need to find a solution for drying. Difference between 2x4(flower) space and 3x3(veg) tent is that the 3x3 will be near the entry door so I don't want to smell outside my apartment

Do you have ways of ventilating all these tents to remove the air from the apartment?

Personally speaking I can stand next to any of my tents and not smell anything because they all have negative pressure with the old air going up a chimney.

Yes I have possibilities to ventilate out the air in the 4x4 flowering tent (it's on the balcony) and almost 4" exhaust hole (outside) in the 2x4 closet room. That's my hole idea with having 3x3 veg tent by the entrance and 2x4 for flowering for smell. So far I have 2x extractor fans and 2x carbon filters which I will put them in the flowering spaces.

Lots of ways

How big are these flower tents?

Perpetual doesn’t mean you have to use 2 flower tents ya know
Flowering space is one 4x4 tent and one 2x4 closet room. Veg space it will be a 3x3 tent which I have no other space but beside the entry door in my house. So I don't have a big space to fill up for having herb for a couple of months and I'm thinking to yield smaller and often (like monthly I was planning). My purpose is to have short veg cycles (shortest I know is 5 weeks) and how Coreywebster said, 10 weeks of flowering....

Ok and what is your production goal?

Like how much cannabis are you looking to consume, say per week?

Also 5 weeks is a long veg, u will be cloning right?

So calculate 2 weeks to root and another week of veg. After that it just depends how big u want them

5 weeks is typical from seed until the plant is mature and that

But clones are already mature so no need for it

Personally I’d be running a sog at about 1 plant per sq ft and wouldn’t be trying to harvest the whole tent at once

More like harvest a few plants per week

Your 2x4 is enough space to dry and veg

No need for a tent near the door

I'm not really sure about production goal, I've made from 20g per plant to 90g per plant, now I'm just trying to see how it wil be with the 4x4 filled up with 9 plants (starting week 6th of flower of 2x Skunk#1 (very nice and big with lots of crystals even on fan leaves), 3x White Widow Skunk, 3x AK-47 (BC seeds) and 1x Berry White. It's pretty thight in there but so far everything is working perfect. Will see how much I will get without LST and stuff like this but filled every inch of the tent...
I want to focus on seeds (germinate and veg) because even it sounds silly but I calculate that it is my best rate of success with perpetual... It might be some clones but this thought it'll be on the second plan. I'm not familiar with SOG, not tried at all. !!!Dry & Veg does not sound like working toghether, can you explain !?

My perpetual grow is across three tents... a 2x3x3' clone tent (240W LED), a 2x4x5' veg tent (400W MH) and a 4x4x7' (1000W HPS). The clone tent for my aerocloner isn't necessary as I could just use the veg tent, but I find it easier.

I wrote some software a few years ago that helps me manage my perpetual grows. Currently, I'm running on a five week veg and 10 week flower cycle, four plants per cycle. There's two batches flowering at all times, each five weeks apart in age. This allows for harvesting and transferring new veg plants to flower every five weeks. I suspect my plants will be done at around nine weeks, so the older of the two batches in flower may be harvested a week or so before new veg plants come in.

The clones are cut and put into the aerocloner three weeks before they go into the veg tent.

If I tell my software to begin the cycle at the date I started for real, I get a printout of the exact dates I need to perform each step. I have this list printed out, and I just cross off each activity as it's completed:

All of that is outside of my other grow setup, which is more for random plants and testing, and the flowering plants (including my pollen and seed plants) are all in different stages of bloom.

The software can also print out the schedule for a three week perpetual, going from rooted clone to flower immediately. Harvests occur every three weeks, and there are three batches of flowering plants at all time. I found that was hard, as I was harvesting eight small plants every three weeks, instead of four much larger ones every five weeks.
